Brown's Marina

A quick shout out to everyone who came out to help us celebrate the first Brown's Marina 50th Anniversary event of the summer. We had 200 people show up for our community pancake breakfast on Sunday May 3rd and raised a staggering $1,222.25 in donations or the Chaffeys Lock Community Hall!!!!

Special thanks go to Sam Grant of Rosepine Farms for the fresh maple syrup, Geoff Kerr, Dan Kube and Spencer Brown who manned the grills.

Some interesting observations:
The sausages were a HUGE hit, and we think it was largely due to them being done on the BBQ rather than frying/baking.

We received many complements on the pancakes as well, we'll share the kudos between Spencer for expert work on the Blackstone, and Costco for the mix on that. In order to increase productivity to meet the demand, Spencer migrated to a less accurate sized pancake into a free pour that created some interesting shapes and sizes.

Lastly, the peameal bacon. This was an accidental inclusion due to an ordering error in the store last year. We wanted 1 peameal bacon for stock, and got a whole box so into the freezer it went. No way we could sell all that so we sliced it up and BBQ'd it too - we couldn't cook it fast enough. Num num!

This is the kick off event to our summer long 50th anniversary celebrations. We'll have some pictures and memorabilia on display collected over the years all the way back to Alford and Kelly years to share as well.

Shout out and congratulations to Spencer Brown and Joshua Steacy, for successfully passing their final exam and attaining their full Certification of Qualification as Marine Engine Mechanics!!!!!!! Woot Woot!!!!!

This is no easy feat, and they've earned this.

Brown's Marina now has FOUR certified and accomplished marine technicians to serve our customers. We're very proud of our all our technicians and the leadership they show in being trained to the highest level to provide the best service to our customers.
