πβ€οΈ A SON'S PROMISE: BRINGING A 1953 INTERNATIONAL BACK TO LIFE β€οΈπ
Some builds are about horsepower.
Some are about memories.
This one is about family.
Back in 1953, Darren's father purchased this International truck brand new. It became part of the family story, carrying decades of memories along the way. Now, more than 70 years later, Darren brought it to our JB's South Edmonton team with one goal in mind:
To get his dad back behind the wheel.
When the truck arrived, it needed extensive work. There was no wiring, the brake system required a complete inspection and overhaul, and countless details needed attention before it could safely return to the road.
π§ Our South Edmonton team got to work:
β
Complete American Autowire wiring system installation
β
Custom electric fan and thermostat mounting fabrication
β
New Holley 7" headlights and upgraded park/signal lights
β
New fuel lines throughout
β
Custom battery tray fabrication and installation
β
GM driveshaft to Ford 8.8 rear-end yoke solution sourced through Alberta Driveline
β
Front and rear glass installation
β
Complete brake system inspection, repair, and bleeding
Special recognition goes to:
π Byron Larson β Sales Consultant
π Landon β Lead Installer
π Mike A. β Brake System Specialist
Over 45-50 hours of labour and countless details later, this 1953 International is ready for its next chapter.
The most rewarding part?
Darren's father has been dealing with declining health, and Darren hopes to spend this summer taking him for a few more drives in the very truck he bought new all those years ago.
Stories like this remind us why we do what we do.
It's never just about the vehicle.
It's about preserving memories, creating new ones, and keeping family history alive.
Thank you, Darren, for trusting JB's Power Centre South Edmonton with such an important project.
