We are proud to celebrate our 2025 Gyro Mazda Local Legends — Linda Bishop & Dorothy Robertson of "Toasty Tootsies" 🏆 Founded in 2014, Toasty Tootsies began with a simple idea inspired by friendship, compassion, and a belief that small acts can make a big difference. What started as socks (lovingly described as “mittens of comfort”) grew into thoughtfully curated care packages providing warm feet, warm hands, and warm tummies to those living rough across Toronto. Each package now includes socks, hand warmers, and a $10 Tim Hortons gift card, delivered with dignity, conversation, and care. Whether shared through Out of the Cold at Eastminster Church, alongside Kardia Run Club, or hand-delivered on walks through the city, these moments of connection remind recipients that they are seen and valued. Sustained by community support through “Toasty Tootsie Day” at the Leaside Lawn Bowling Club, and supplemented personally by its founders, Toasty Tootsies now delivers 180–200 packages each year, continuing its mission for as long as health allows. As Linda & Dorothy's mantra reminds us: “Be a rainbow in someone else’s cloud.” 🌈
