# THE PERSON BEHIND THE UNIFORM -
MENTAL HEALTH MATTERS!

There are moments when the world stops being about headlines, statistics, titles, uniforms, occupations, departments or organizations—and becomes about one human being.

The world is changing faster than most of us care to admit .

Our thoughts are with the family, friends, colleagues, fellow first responders and every person whose life has been touched by the devastating loss of someone during a mental-health crisis.

We are deeply sorry.

There are no perfect words for a family trying to understand how someone they loved could have been hurting so deeply.

And perhaps one of the most painful parts of a loss like this is what comes afterward.

The questions.

“Did I miss something?”
“Why didn't I know?”
“What if I had called?”
“What if I had asked one more time?”
“What if I had noticed?”

To every person carrying those questions:

Please stop blaming yourself for not being able to see inside another person's pain.

The human mind is extraordinarily good at hiding what the human heart cannot carry.

People can show up to work.
They can answer the phone.
They can laugh.
They can help someone else.
They can put on a uniform.
They can lead a team.
They can tell everyone they're fine.

And still be fighting a battle nobody else can see.

That is why this conversation cannot belong to one profession.

First responders go through so much.

Tow operators.
Firefighters.
Police officers.
Paramedics.
Dispatchers.
Corrections officers.
Military personnel.
Healthcare workers.
Teachers.
Social workers.
Emergency-room staff.
Executives.
Tradespeople.
Business owners.
Parents.
Students.

And everyone in between.

This isn't just one industry.

IT'S ALL OF US!

Behind every uniform is a person.

Behind every job title is a human being.

Behind every strong exterior may be someone quietly wondering how much longer they can keep carrying what they carry.

We have built a world capable of communicating across continents in milliseconds.

Artificial intelligence can analyze enormous amounts of information, recognize patterns, translate languages, generate ideas and help us solve problems that once seemed impossible.

But there is something AI cannot replace:

Human presence.

A hand on someone's shoulder.

A voice saying, “I'm here.”

A friend who stays on the phone.

A colleague who notices the change.

A family member who asks twice.

A leader who creates a workplace where saying “I'm not okay”
isn't treated as weakness.

Technology can help us recognize patterns.

But humans have to recognize humans.

Maybe that is the bridge we need to build.

Not AI versus humanity.

Not technology replacing connection.

But ''technology helping humanity become more connected, more aware and more willing to intervene when someone is struggling.''

We should be using every tool available to us—but never forgetting that sometimes the most powerful intervention is simply looking someone in the eyes and asking:

“How are you—really?”

And then having the courage to stay long enough to hear the answer.

To anyone reading this who is questioning whether their own pain matters:

It does.

You do.

You do not have to wait until you are at your breaking point to ask for help.

You do not have to explain everything perfectly.

You do not have to be strong every day.

And you absolutely do not have to carry everything alone.

If you or someone you know is in crisis, please reach out.
Talk to someone. Tell someone. Stay with someone. Ask for professional help. If there is immediate danger, contact emergency services or get to the nearest emergency department.

And to the people who are grieving:

Please remember something that grief often makes impossible to believe in the beginning:

You are allowed to grieve without having all the answers.

The painful truth is that replaying every conversation, every phone call, every missed opportunity and every “what if”
cannot change what happened or bring someone back.

But perhaps we can allow that pain to become a reason to change what happens next.

Maybe the legacy of someone we lost should not simply be another memorial, another headline or another moment of collective sadness.

Maybe it should become another reason we check on someone.

Another reason we listen.

Another reason we remove the stigma.

Another reason we teach our children that mental health is health.

Another reason workplaces take psychological safety as seriously as physical safety.

Another reason leaders ask their people how they are doing—and actually listen.

Another reason a first responder knows that asking for help will never make them less brave.

Because courage isn't always running toward the emergency.

''Sometimes courage is admitting that you are the emergency.''

And sometimes courage is being the person who notices.

So today, before you scroll past this:

Call someone.

Text someone.

Check on the person who always checks on everyone else.

Ask the coworker who has been unusually quiet.

Ask the friend who keeps saying they're fine.

Ask the first responder who has seen things no human being should have to carry alone.

And if you're the person everyone depends on—

please remember that you are allowed to depend on someone too.

We may not be able to save everyone.

We may not recognize every sign.

We may never know the full story behind another person's battle.

But we can make one promise:

We will keep talking.

We will keep listening.

We will keep asking.

We will keep showing up.

We will keep building a world where reaching for help is viewed not as weakness, but as one of the strongest things a human being can do.

Because behind every uniform is a person.

Behind every professional is a person.

Behind every screen is a person.

Behind every AI interaction is a human being on the other side.

And perhaps the most advanced technology humanity will ever create will never be a machine.

Perhaps it will be our ability to use everything we have learned—and everything we have built—to become better at taking care of each other.

To every family grieving.
To every friend who doesn't understand.
To every colleague replaying the past.
To every first responder carrying the weight of the job.
To every person silently fighting a battle everyday

You are seen.
You are heard.
You matter.
And you are not a burden for needing someone.

Sometimes one conversation can change the direction of a life.

''Be willing to start it.''

In a place that needs Changing - Make a Difference......

🇨🇦 A NATION IN MOURNING: HONORING OUR FALLEN HEROES 🇨🇦

In our line of work, we stand on the roads every day alongside the flashing lights.
We see firsthand the bravery, the selflessness, and the absolute dedication of the men and women, (others) who run toward danger so that others might live.

This week, Canada feels a heavy, collective pain. From the Atlantic coast to the Pacific, we have lost true heroes in the line of duty.

Today, the entire team at RWC Towing and Recovery stands in silent tribute to three incredible individuals who made the ultimate sacrifice

💔 From Prince Edward Island (Island EMS):
We mourn the tragic loss of paramedics Mike MacKenzie and Jenna Marie Croucher.
They spent their final moments doing what they did best—protecting and caring for a patient in need. Their absence leaves a massive void in the first responder family that will never truly be filled. It is with deep sadness that we mourn the loss of two Island EMS ...
“They answered the call when the world was at its worst, bringing light into our darkest hours. Their shift on earth is over, but their watch will live on in every life they touched.”

🤍 From British Columbia: We also honor B.C. helicopter pilot Nicholas Dale of Sooke.
An elite aerial firefighter, Nicholas lost his life while bravely battling a massive wildfire, taking to the skies to protect communities he would never meet.
“He flew above the smoke to be our shield, sacrificing his own tomorrow so that total strangers could have theirs. A hero of the skies, grounded but never forgotten.”

To the families, friends, and colleagues of Mike, Jenna, and Nicholas—our hearts ache with yours.
To our fellow first responders, firefighters/paramedics/ officers/ tow operators, MTO crash truck operators and emergency crews still out there on the front lines today & everyday: please stay safe.

We draw the line, we clear the roads, and today, we lower our flags in absolute respect.
Rest easy, heroes.. 🕊️🚒🚑🚁
