would like to advise the public about safety concerns of hunting in the area around Highway 17 and Inglis Lake Road following a recent collision.

On Sunday, March 1, 2026, at approximately 10:00 a.m. CST, a commercial motor vehicle collision caused cattle to break free from their trailer. There is a plan in place to safely remove the remaining cattle from the area. In the interest of public safety and the safety of the removal team, Kenora OPP is asking to refrain from hunting. Hunting the cattle may result in charges under the Trespass to Property Act as well as Criminal Code charges such as discharging a firearm recklessly, careless use of a firearm, and theft.

If you see cattle along Highway 17 in the area of Inglis Lake Road, please contact the Kenora OPP at 1-888-310-1122. Thank you to everyone who has already called in and continue to drive safe and stay alert - we all have a role to play in keeping our community safe. ^elm

Today we’re paying our respects to the family and reminding everyone to please SLOW DOWN AND MOVE OVER for all Emergency vehicles.

Tow truck procession planned on Saturday, Dec. 13, at 10:30 am for still unidentified Kitchener, Can., tow op who was fatally struck by a semi on Hwy. 401 last week. Procession will depart from 135 Gateway Park Drive at former Emprire Theaters parking lot.
