Some exterior details need prep work before the wash even begins.

This vehicle had old 3M film removed before its Exterior Maintenance Detail so the surface could be cleaned up properly. Aged film and adhesive can be stubborn, but taking the time to prep correctly makes a difference in the final result.

Yesterday we talked about why the right windshield matters.

Today, this is why the right installation matters too.

This customer came in for wind noise from a windshield we did not install. From the outside, the glass looked fine — but during inspection, Kris found that the glass was lifting away from the body on both sides.

After removal, the inconsistent contact and uneven bonding became clear.
A proper windshield install is not just glass in, glass out. Prep, primer, urethane application, placement, and bonding all matter.

Back glass prep has its own soundtrack.

The old urethane bead needs to be cut down carefully so the new glass has the right fit and binding surface. It’s not the flashiest part of the job, but it matters for fit, bonding, and proper install.
