What a weekend for the Van Dolders Honda Team with Ben Young!

While today’s race 1 finishes weren’t quite what they hoped them to be, the other western riders still had some great moments at a very chilly Shannonville circuit. Bronti Verbeek was running as high as 3rd place in the Twins Cup race, setting her fastest laps of the weekend. Unfortunately, she and another rider were in a battle for the podium coming into the final corner when she went down. She’s injury-free, but there’s some minor work to do on her trusty steed tonight! She’ll be back in the hunt tomorrow.
Ryan McGowan had a difficult qualifying day yesterday. An early crash left his bike with some feel issues. The team got it sorted for this morning, but it’s difficult to be confident about pushing when that happens. Ryan suited up for the Supersport race, and put in a very gritty ride to finish Race 1. Tomorrow is another race, and there will be points to gain!
Not every race story has a happy ending, but it’s what we do to write that story that shows what we’re made of. Western Canada was well represented in the stories

Huge congrats to Ben Young for a dominant performance in the first race of CSBK Round 1, and to Jordan and David for rounding out the podium! Congratulations too, to Andrew, for a solid 4th place in his first national Superbike race. Three Hondas in the top four!
