π’ Alberta World Record Group Ride / World Record Poker Rally
π¨ UPDATE #3 π¨
It's hard to believe that only two weeks ago this was just an idea shared in a Facebook post.
Today, here's where we stand:
β
148 confirmed riders
β³ 97 riders depending on the final event date
That's a total of **245 people** who have already expressed interest!
Machine count so far:
π’ 192 Side-by-Sides
π 33 Quads & Other Machines
β 54 Unknown Machine Types
That's a current total of **279 machines** identified or mentioned!
The current world record to beat is **202 side-by-sides crossing the finish line.** That means we can't simply show up with 202 machines. We need more than that to allow for unexpected breakdowns or mechanical issues during the ride.
If you've already commented that you're coming but haven't told me what machine you'll be bringing, or if I sent you a message and you haven't had a chance to reply yet, please let me know! It'll help me keep the machine count as accurate as possible.
Another exciting step forward is that we've officially submitted our inquiry to Guinness World Records.
We're now waiting to receive the official guidelines and requirements that must be followed to officially challenge and break the current world record. Once we receive those details, we'll be able to make sure every part of this event is organized to meet their standards.
Every day this project continues to grow, I'm learning more about what it takes to organize an event of this size. The encouragement, ideas, and support from all of you have helped shape this project into something much bigger than I ever imagined.
Based on the feedback we've received, one idea that's gaining a lot of support is combining the World Record Group Ride with a World Record Poker Rally. It would help cover the costs of organizing an event of this size, create an even better experience for everyone attending, allow us to offer prizes and, if successful, any remaining funds after legitimate event expenses would be shared equally among the participating ATV clubs to help support Alberta's trail systems and future trail projects.
The support from local businesses has been incredible. I'd like to thank **S5 Powersports, Mountain Edge Cycle, Yorstor, and Hairday Barber Shop** for expressing interest in supporting this project.
Hairday Barber Shop has already offered to spend the day on the trail handing out water to riders, and Yorstor has expressed interest in helping with prizes. We're also in discussions with Mountain Edge Cycle, S5 Powersports, and Weller Racing to see how they'd like to be involved as this project continues to grow.
This week I'll be reaching out to ATV clubs from all across Alberta, not just Rocky ATV Club. My goal is to bring the entire Alberta off-road community together for one incredible event. If riders are willing to travel from all four corners of Alberta to be part of this, I hope Alberta's ATV clubs will want to come together and help shape this event from the very beginning.
This isn't something one person can build alone. It will take riders, volunteers, businesses, sponsors, and ATV clubs working together. But if we can make it happen, I truly believe we can create something Alberta has never seen before.
If you'd like to be part of making this event a reality, I'd love to hear from you.
Whether you're interested in becoming a Trail Supporter sponsor, a Bronze, Silver, or Gold sponsor, volunteering your time, donating prizes, or helping in any other way, please reach out.
Every sponsor, every volunteer, and every helping hand brings us one step closer to creating something truly special for Alberta's off-road community.
Thank you to everyone who's commented, shared, supported, and believed in this idea. In just two weeks, you've helped turn one simple idea into something that's becoming bigger than I ever imagined.
Let's make Alberta off-road history together! π
