Thinking of buying a used vehicle, think carefully.
We've all been there. You need a cheap used car for a winter driver, student off to school, or just need something to get you back and forth to work. You go to Facebook marketplace or Kijiji and find a car worth $8000. You go look at the car and the interior is nice, the exterior looks shiny, granted it's 10 years old but it has low kilometers on it. The brakes and tires are new and the seller says it shouldn't need anything for safety. So you buy it as is. We at Armstrong-Macko Automotive get a call from you to book in the safety inspection. You get it here. We get it on the hoist and underneath the steel rockers and frame are rotten. A lot of the time the car does not need any other repairs, however your in for a very expensive trip to the body shop that must be done in a specific manner as required by the Ministry of Transportation standards. There have also been many of instances the rot is not repairable and often times the car makes it's last trip to the scrap yard and you're out $8000. Before you buy any car, have it put through a safety inspection at a certified MTO inspection station and save your hard earned money. If the seller is unwilling to let you have this inspection done before the purchase then walk away. Armstrong-Macko Automotive is here to help you with these important matters.
