Is it time for a change? WE are looking to add to our expert instructional staff for Class 1, 2, 3 & 4 training at MTI. To qualify, we require applicants to have ten years of verifiable commercial driving experience. Preference is given to past MTI graduates (we are 28 years old there are a few of you out there). Training will be provided for the selected candidate. There will be learning required and you need to be excited to train and challenge our students to be the best they can be! Please provide a resume and abstract if this is of interest to you and we can chat to see if it would be a good fit for both of us. Prior to hiring anyone we will invite you to spend a couple of days with us to meet the team and make sure that you get to experience what a normal work day would look like. The driver failed to stop at the Bombi brake check East of Castlegar. He then rode his brakes all the way down the hill and stopped short of the highway scales. Based on the picture, this driver could use a mountain driving course. If you are coming to BC you need to know what you are doing in the mountains. For your safety as well as everyone's families that are on the roads at least watch the video series that Jim Park and I created. You can go down a hill thousands of times too slow but only once too fast! He got lucky today!

Heading out for a mountain drive with our MELT students this morning. The reality of trucking is sometimes things don't go as planned. Blew a coolant hose that delayed the trip slightly, the student got some real life practice setting up the triangles 🔺️ and we were grateful to be in cell coverage!

At MTI we believe that to be an excellent instructor you need to have driven commercially for at least ten years. MTI turned 28 years old this month which means there are 18 years of our former students out there that he at least ten years experience. Week 7 of our current MELT course. Mother nature helped out today with some weather. Students have been completing their Mountain and Highway skills evaluations today, using our fully loaded tridem trailer. If you are serious about a Professional driving career MTI is ready to challenge and prepare you! Classes start every 4 weeks.

When you take your MELT course at MTI, you spend lots of time in the mountains learning how to drive a truck equipped with an 18 speed transmission. Shifting up and down through all 18 gears driving up and down the mountains. We use trailers loaded to 39,000 kg and one at 45,000 kg. If you are serious about a professional driving career you need to talk to us. Our graduates are in demand.
