This all started when I was about 13, I was hired to clean out a storage barn, I saw a three tier trailer in a corner of that barn. Three racing hydroplanes were on that trailer and I was hooked. I never looked back, two weeks after that day I was in a Mercury Marine repair shop tearing apart a 115 6 cylinder tower of power.

I have been at this now for over 40 years. I have been trying to sell the business for several years and I have had some inquiries but nothing panned out. I lost my dad in 2019! Heart attack for me in 2020, but I kept moving on, for the love of my customers.

I have ran the shop, fixed everything, ordered everything, book keeping etc. Health issues have creeped in on me, I can't do what I used to as much as I would like to. Many in the trade understand how this can beat up on your body over the years!

In 2026 I decided this would be the year that I will be calling it quits, There are a few things more that I have to finish in the yard but I will get them done.

I could not sell the business, so I listed the property! I got the call today, the building and the property is now sold closing later this year! That being said, I have to get things cleared out, after 20 plus years you collect a lot of stuff!

I have a deep appreciation for all of my clients, most have supported me for many years, some of you for all of the years! I have always tried to be fair, and to do things properly. If it took longer in many cases there was no extra cost, but fair time, and the cost of the parts. It is bitter-sweet, I will miss what I built, and all of you! Many have showed up to chat, or a quick fix, or just a question over the phone. I never once said you need to bring it in first, I tried to help out on the spot, to that point, that is literally how this entire ball got rolling, thanks to a fireman named Paul! He was one of my first customers, I fixed a mis-diagnosed problem, on the spot, not even sure I charged him anything! Oh the stories, I could go on and on!

All that to say, I am retiring! I will not be taking on any more work effective immediately, I will only finish what is on site. I will not be offering any winterizing or wrapping services this fall, Please call Port of Call Marina for any fall service, winterizing and storage.

Aim Marine will be closing effective August 31, 2026. I will make further announcements soon on any sales or an auction event. Currently I am focused on getting any work done and completed prior to the end of august.

This is not easy, but I know it is time! Thank you to all of my clients over the years for your support! I try to remember every name and every face and I hope that the service we provided to you all was up to par! After 20 plus years, I gave it a lot of love, and I really do appreciate you all!

I am thankful to a concerned citizen calling to report some suspiscious activity in the Durham region, in the middle of the night and a diligent officer knowing (Thank you Richard) the offenders (repeat offenders) The Falcon F-205 is now again in my posession and stored in an undisclosed location.

Several items are missing, and several over the top stickers added everywhere on the boat to try and disguise it....I guess! I am grateful and bitter at the same time. I could go on but I digress!

I am telling you boat owners between the thefts and the fraudulent activity happening in our country right now, if you enjoy boating, you better talk to your MP's and let them know how concerned you are or should be!

As business owners if we can't protect ourselves and these things continue to happen as they are, I am not sure why any owner would want to continue suffering the mental stress this causes!

To give you an idea, I pay almost 21K per year for insurance, and my deductible is 10K. Currently on top of theft, scammers are using fake bank drafts to buy 100K plus boats, equipment etc, and the banks and insurances companies are hanging these dealers out to dry with no coverage for the loss. Loosing 100K in cash flow is very hard to take once, have it happen two, three or more times, and you are out of business. I feel very sorry for the 30 year old spray insulation business owner who just got scammed for 155K and will problably need to close laying of 20 workers as well!

As much as people enjoy living life with blinders on, this is actually happening, I get five plus e-mails a week from my back office finance company of fake id's and new groups to look out for. So when I say talk to your MP that something needs to be done, it needs to be done NOW, or you are not going to have us anymore to service your summer fun toys!

Not the post I wanted to have to make! We were broken into yesterday, Our 2023 Falcon F205 Bass Boat Mercury 250 ProXS was stolen. The time was approximately 7:28 PM. They cased the lot in a Grey 3/4 ton extended cab FORD pick up, with only a plate on the rear. 2 individuals, cut the lock on the gate, Rammed the Dodge 1 TON dually that was blocking the gate out of the way and entered the yard. One person had entered the yard earlier in the day and cut the lock and tire chains off the trailer the boat was on. This is one of only 9 Falcon Bass boats in Canada. I was on site but missed the thieves by about 9 minutes and I did not pass them heading east on the 417, so my thought is that they headed north on 17 towards quebec. The boat was still shrinkwrapped in white and would have had blue shrink wrap tape in certain areas. I have sent several videos to Ottawa Police along with several still shots of the drivers and passengers faces. There would be significant damage to the front end of the grey Ford pickup with broken signal lights etc, most of which is lying on the ground at my shop. They left several handprints on the hood of the Dodge Ram that was blocking the gate.
