What is chain-slap you might ask???
When it comes to bike noise, one you cannot miss is chain slap, down every rough downhill section or off every drop your chain makes a right racket slapping up and down against your swingarm (chain-sstay). Some bikes are fitted with chainstay protectors, but their main purpose is to protect the frame underneath, not necessarily keep noise at bay.
Enter the "Silencer" by Rocky Mountain Rubber. This piece of recycled bike tire will either dramatically reduce, or completely eliminate the sound of chain-slap on your rig. Of course, many other variables come in to play with, but the silencer will make you realize what you were missing out on!
Below is a picture of a bike with the Silencer installed using zip ties. Chain slap noise was completely eliminated on this bike.
The Silencer will fit most bikes (you just need to trim to length) and can be installed in about 5 minutes.
When you buy the silencer, you also get the zip ties to install it, and a strip of paint protector film 👍.
Best part of the story, when you buy a Silencer from Rocky Mountain Rubber you support a local business, and you prevent rubber from entering our landfills.
Win-win-win!
