Merry Christmas from the team at Minotaur Mechanical!!

It has been a pleasure serving such an amazing community for yet another year, made even better by getting to work alongside these amazing gents each day.

We will be taking the rest of the week off and returning to regular services on Monday Dec 29th.

As the average vehicle age is increasing, we sometimes run into availability issues on discontinued parts. 👎

In these instances, we've got to get handy, and get creative. For instance, rebuilding a wire harness for a slightly aging, yet still young at heart, Chrysler 300.

Some engines are timed with a belt system involving idlers, tensioner and the water pump.

This engine had an idler bearing let loose which cause the engine to over heat as the waterpump was no longer being driven.

Maintenance intervals for timing belts varies by manufacturer, but a good rule of thumb is 150,000km.

Signs it's time for a new one are:
- Rattling on start up
- Decreased engine performance
- Check engine light

🦃🍁 Thanksgiving is calling, and even our wrenches need a little rest!
We’ll be closed Monday, October 13th to enjoy the holiday, but we’ll be back to action on Tuesday, fueled by turkey and pie.

Hey everybody! We have been lacking in the posting department for a year (or more), and want to try getting back in the swing of it to keep you all involved and update with what it means to work with Minotaur!

Better posts to come, for now, here's a Camshaft from a 2014 6.4 2500. This truck is getting quite the refresh with an upgraded oil pump - new lifters - cam - push rods - and all associated gaskets and hardware.

As usual with engine repairs, we have opted to utilize manufacturer components to ensure a successful repair touting longevity and assurance.
