🔧 Big Repair from This Week 🔧
This one came in running rough and down on power. Had a misfire on cylinder 4 and after some diagnosing this is what we found! Heavy carbon buildup and a burnt valve inside the cylinder head (check out the pictures 👀).
We pulled the engine down, addressed the burnt valve and sent the head out to be cleaned up and checked. Put everything back together with new gaskets and we had this 2016 Hyundai Sonata back on the road.
👨🔧These types of issues are super common on a lot of today’s GDI engines. Running a higher octane fuel, using a fuel system additive during fill up periodically, regular oil changes and getting in for an intake/valve cleaning service are all good steps to avoid a costly repair! 👨🔧
