Irving is estimated to have driven over 100,000 miles per year visiting car shows, with the longest stretch in one trip being New York to Vancouver, Canada. Regular car maintenance can be easy to forget. However, regular oil changes are important in ensuring the smooth operation of your vehicle. The oil in your engine lubricates the moving parts to reduce friction in the engine. When the oil is fresh, it lubricates at peak efficiency, and that reduces the daily wear and tear of running your engine. As the oil gets older, it gets dirty. As it gathers dirt and metal filings, its ability to lubricate decreases, and your engine starts to wear out faster. The longer you wait to get your oil changed, the more wear there is on your engine, which can increase the risk of an accident. When drivers are on a tight schedule, speeding is often tempting. But the dangers of causing an accident outweigh any benefits of speeding. Vehicle travel speeds affect both the risk of crash involvement and the severity of crashes, and subsequent injuries. Driving over the speed limit increases your chances of being involved in a crash and means you have less time to react to avoid a crash. Speeding is also against the law so it’s best to stay safe and within the legal speed limit.
