When I first bought a house, I was mostly excited about having a garage. True story.
A place to dive into projects, and a place that I could explore the bounds of creativity. As of today, I’m still not completely done cleaning out the garage, but I can honestly say it’s been the best investment I’ve ever made in myself.
Over this past year I’ve painted it 3 times, gone to the dump 8 times, and worked on countless projects and vehicles. But more than the projects, it’s shown me a mirror into my own patience, creativity, and helped me to grow in confidence in who I am.
While I never imagined I’d one day make YouTube videos and people would actually watch them, I also never imagined I’d find a hobby and lifestyle that would balance out the burnout and demand of being a therapist.
While these tools have worked on countless projects, it’s days like today where I am thankful that they have also done their work on me.
