🐾🧺 A Personal Plea from Chucky the Cat 🧼🐾
🚨 Our washing machine is dying. 🚨
And let me tell you — in a shelter full of furballs, accidents, and endless laundry, this is a code red situation.
Hi friends, it's me — Chucky, your favourite special-needs superstar here at SHAID. 👋 I may scoot instead of walk, but I’m perfectly capable of launching an emotional appeal (or glaring when ignored).
Now listen — we have a situation. The shelter’s washing machine, our loyal hero of fluff and funk removal, is making some very concerning noises. I’m talking groans, squeals, and an occasional thump that sounds suspiciously like it's trying to escape the laundry room. 😬
This machine works harder than a cat avoiding a bath. It tackles mountains of blankets, towels, beds, and laundry soaked in everything from mud to mystery. And trust me — with dozens of us critters around, there’s a LOT to wash. Like… a lot.
We desperately need a new one before this one gives up for good. So I’m here, looking adorable and vaguely menacing, to ask for your help. 🙏

📣 UPCOMING EMPIRE STREET INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT
>>> Work on long-term project to begin in May

On behalf of the Town of Bridgewater’s Engineering and Public Works Department, we wish to advise the public that on Monday, May 5, 2025, a major water and wastewater infrastructure project will begin on Empire Street, in the area from York to High Street.

This project is expected to take several months to complete. Local traffic will be accommodated during work – both residents and those seeking to access the Bridgewater Memorial Arena grounds, the Bridgewater Interchurch Food Bank, and other services in the area.

The public should expect brief delays and impacts on curbside parking on Empire Street during weekdays when work is taking place.

PARADE ROUTE IMPACT
As this work area is part of the “traditional” parade route, the Town has recommended to parade organizers an alternate parade route this year that will see parades depart the High Street area and travel via Dominion and York Street, before reconnecting with the remainder of the traditional route at the intersection of York Street and Empire Street, downhill from the project area. We truly appreciate your patience and understanding as this important infrastructure upgrade project takes place.

At the conclusion of the project, new street surfacing will be installed making for a better driving experience for those who frequent the Empire Street area.
