TKC has been the training ground for such Canadian racing greats as Paul Tracy and James Hinchcliff . Several of our more recent graduates, such as Daniel Morad, Ashley Taws, and Robert Wickens are continuing to exhibit their racing skills as they move up to cars such as F1200, F1600, F2000, Fran-Am Series, Barber-Dodge Pro Series, and Formula BMW. Others have chose to try their racing prowess in
Legend, Can-Am TQ Midgets and Ice Racing in Minden during the colder months. TKC strives to offer its members as much variety and challenge as possible, so we also hold several away races at various locations in Ontario. Classes or divisions are separated by age, weight, and engine type in order to even the playing field. Our members compete for daily trophies, which are awarded to the top 5 finishers in each of our classes, with the exception of our Novice class, where all participants are recognized. Year-end awards are given to all drivers who have participated in a set number of Club events. Our racing schedule starts in April, and runs until the end of October. In addition to our Club races, we also host a number of special events, such as the fall Ironman Enduro -- these events attract the hardiest racers from all over Ontario. The finale of our season is our Gala Awards Banquet where all our drivers, sponsors, and volunteers are honoured. Our events are conducted with safety and fun as our primary goals. We operate under ASN-FIA Canadian Karting regulations, and each event is covered by a comprehensive insurance policy. We work hard to keep expenses as low as possible, which results in low race day entry and membership fees, and maximum benefit to our members. We also rely on corporate sponsorship to help offset the rising costs of running our race events. Some of these ongoing costs include: track rental, officials, insurance, ambulance services, and awards.
