One of the most important days of the year.
Reach out, speak up, you're not alone!
Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.
A day to bring awareness to something that can be incredibly hard to talk about and more importantly to remind our community that you don't have to struggle alone.
Here at TMT, Mattie Braden is a Certified Canadian Counsellor and is here for those who need professional mental health support. We also understand that making that first counselling appointment can feel scary or like a really big step.
Our RMTs aren't counsellors, but we are human. Sometimes the massage room becomes a place where people talk, let things out, or simply need someone to listen. We've had clients leave saying, βWow, I think I needed that talk more than I needed the massage.β
Maybe reaching out looks like booking with a counsellor or RMT. Maybe it's talking to your doctor. Maybe it's finally telling a family member or friend that you're having a hard time. There isn't one right way to ask for support.
And if none of those feel possible right now Canada's 9-8-8 Su***de Crisis Helpline is available by call or text 24 hours a day.
There is also a Brandon & Area Su***de Bereavement Support Group available in our community for those who have experienced the loss of someone to su***de. Support matters for those left grieving too.
You don't have to carry the hard stuff alone β€οΈ
