Most first time buyer's ask, "Can I actually drive this thing?"

Fair Question! It's best answered from the driver's seat.

On October 24 and October 31st, during Canada's Largest Motorhome Sales Event, we're handing over the keys to anyone that wants to driving one.

Get behind the wheel of a Class A or C motorhome with your co-pilot Dave Stoate for a ride.

He'll walk you through the functionality, driving tips and answer any questions on your mind before you hit the road. Expect a little “Whoa, this thing is HUGE!” followed by a whole lot of “I’ve got this!” Once you’re rolling, the open road starts calling.

This is designed with the first-time buyers in mind. Allowing you to find your comfort behind the wheel. No matter what the size - Big rig, big views, big adventures await.

Test Drive Saturdays have a limited number of slots, so if you're planning on test driving with us make sure to call us and reserve your spot!

It’s nearly that time of year again. HOCKEY SEASON - the rivalry is ON!

Tom Stoate, our President, and Eric Scott, Diesel Technician, are at it again.

Tom, a Habs fan and Eric, a Leafs Fan, are ready to duke it out for the 2026/2027 season.

Is it “Olé, Olé, Olé” or “Go Leafs Go!”?

Nearly 60 years. Three generations. One family legacy.

Dave McKee started The Hitch House almost 60 years ago, after serving as an officer in the Canadian Armed Forces.

In 2001, Dave's daughter Hiedi and her husband Tom Stoate came on as his partners. Dave's son Chris worked here all through high school and Georgian College, and today Chris is our General Sales Manager. And Dave's other daughter Ashley is the one greeting customers and making them feel right at home.

This year, the third generation clocked in.

Dave's grandson, David Stoate, has joined our Service Department as Service and Body Shop Coordinator.

If he looks familiar to some of our regular customers, that's because he spent his high school years and university summers here. But this time he has decided to work at The Hitch House permanently.

The RV world has changed a lot since Dave McKee first opened the doors. But his legacy is very much intact. Three generations in, we're still a family looking after everyone who comes through here like one.

Here's to the next 60 years. Welcome home, David!

New arrival alert!!!

Chris got the first look, and honestly, we're a little jealous of whoever ends up driving this one home.

It's available to buy starting tomorrow. Come by and see it up close!

Here's what happens every spring. The first warm Saturday in April arrives and everybody wants their coach ready the same week. The phone starts and doesn't stop for days.

Everyone gets backed up picking up their motorhome and booking time to repair something, or do the annual maintenance. Get the seals or the roof looked at.

The great thing about storing your motorhome at the Hitch House is that we already have a full Service Department on site that can perform maintenance, upgrades, updates to your motorhome over the winter.

So all you have to do that warm week in spring is pick it up and enjoy it for the rest of the year.

17 service bays and a body shop, all on the same property your coach is already sitting on.

How great is that?

Make sure to contact us and reserve your spot today before they're gone.

Here are four reasons why storing your motorhome at The Hitch House makes sense.

Fully paved spots - Your coach is not sinking into soft ground, settling into ruts, or sitting in five months of moisture wicking up from underneath.

30 amp service at the spot - Power means your batteries stay maintained all winter instead of quietly draining, and a drained battery is a battery that may not survive the winter.

Enhanced security - We're a staffed dealership with people, cameras on site, and 24/7 monitoring. Not an empty field nobody visits until spring.

Valet service - You call when you want to pick it up, we bring it out and get it cleaned and ready.

So what are you waiting for? Reserve your spot with us while there is still time. We have limited spots and once they are filled, they're filled for the season.

Every September the same question comes up. The season is winding down, now what do I do with my motorhome?

Storing it on the driveway is a pain. Five months of salt, snow, and nothing plugged in. Or a bylaw that says a motorhome cannot sit in front of your house at all.

Lucky for you, we store motorhomes here at the dealership too!

And we're not an empty field with a fence around it. We got paved spots, 30 amp power, enhanced security, and a Service Department ready to repair and maintain your coach through the winter.

Over the next few posts we'll walk through what storing with us actually looks like, and why it's different from parking it in a lot somewhere and hoping for the best.

Spaces are limited, so if you already know you need one, contact us as soon as possible to reserve a spot!

This is what winter looked like last year. Do you really want to stay in Ontario through this year's winter?

Yes it's nice and hot right now, but if you're planning to stay somewhere warm this winter, you should start looking for motorhomes right now.

You have the fall to learn the coach and what all the switches do. You have time to get the accessories you want instead of what's left in stock. And there's still plenty of time to enjoy our wonderful Canadian outdoors.

Snowbird season starts earlier than you think! Come see our lineup of motorhomes while you're still in shorts.

Family connections are such an important part of the team at The Hitch House that we have another family to showcase!

Megan Blades joined the company as a Service Advisor in April 2023 and enjoys the challenge of keeping motorhome customers happy by providing excellent service and support.

Her son, Finlay Hazelwood, started in December 2023 and helps maintain The Hitch House property and keeping the motorhomes clean on the display lot.

He enjoys working outdoors and takes pride in learning new skills while contributing to the team.

Together, they bring a strong family connection and positive attitude to The Hitch House every day!
