Bailey Gwen Maidens was born last night at 11:40 weighing in at 6lb 12oz
Mommy and Daddy are doing great.

We are incredibly grateful to the Loyal Orange Lodge 432, the Oddfellows, and Gary Chandler for their generous donation of an AED to Maidens Family Auto Care.

Having an AED available in our south-end Barrie community is about much more than our business—it’s about being prepared to help a customer, neighbour, employee, or anyone nearby when every second matters.

Thank you to these organizations and Gary for recognizing the importance of having lifesaving equipment accessible in our community. We are proud to provide a home for this AED and truly appreciate their generosity and commitment to keeping our community safe.

Thank you to Mayor Alex Nuttall, MPP Andrea Khanjin, Ward 8 Councillor Jim Harris, Barrie Chamber of Commerce CEO Paul Markel, Board Member Rowley Ramey and Chantale Boileau, Ambassador Trent Mayers for taking the time out of there day for the presentation.

🔧 Session #1: The Basics of Your Car

Our mechanics will walk you through some of the basics every vehicle owner should know, helping you better understand your car, what’s happening under the hood, and the regular maintenance that helps keep you safely on the road.

No mechanical experience is needed! This is meant to be a relaxed, hands-on learning opportunity where you can ask questions and learn directly from the people who work on vehicles every day.

Understanding Your Car — One Hour at a Time

Ever wished you understood a little more about what’s happening under the hood?

Maidens Family Auto Care is excited to introduce Beyond the Steering Wheel, a new once-a-month, one-hour hands-on learning session for anyone interested in learning more about their vehicle and what goes into maintaining it.

👨‍🔧 Taught by our own experienced mechanics, each session will focus on practical, everyday automotive knowledge — explained in a way that’s easy to understand. No mechanical experience required!

Topics could include:
🔹 Understanding warning lights and your dashboard
🔹 Checking fluids and knowing what they do
🔹 Tires, tire pressure, tread and seasonal changes
🔹 Brakes and recognizing signs of wear
🔹 Oil changes and regular maintenance
🔹 Batteries and charging systems
🔹 What those noises, smells and vibrations might mean
🔹 What happens during a vehicle inspection
🔹 How preventative maintenance can save you money
🔹 Questions you’ve always wanted to ask a mechanic

Our goal is simple: to help you feel more confident and informed about the vehicle you drive every day.

Whether you’re a new driver, have been driving for 40 years, or simply want to better understand your vehicle, Beyond the Steering Wheel is for you.
