🔧 A Quick D&S Shop Update 🔧

First off... THANK YOU! ❤️

It's been an absolutely incredible year, and we honestly can't thank our customers enough. The support from this community has been nothing short of amazing. Every phone call, message, referral, and machine dropped off means the world to us.

The truth is, we wish we could take on every single repair that comes our way, but there simply aren't enough hours in the day. We'd rather be upfront about our availability than overbook and have your equipment sitting in the yard waiting longer than it should.

🗓️We're currently booking larger repairs into September.

We still have limited appointment spots available for routine maintenance and smaller services, but those openings are filling quickly.

❄️ Believe it or not, snowblower season isn't far away. We already have 57 snowblower services booked, and it's not even August yet! If you want your machine ready before the first snowfall, we'd highly recommend getting on the schedule sooner rather than later.

📍 For the foreseeable future, D&S will continue operating by appointment only. This allows us to stay focused, keep repairs moving, reduce wait times, and give every customer and every machine the attention they deserve.

Whether you've been with us since day one or just found us recently, thank you for choosing D&S. We never take your support for granted, and we'll continue working hard every day to earn your trust.

After missing a customer because we couldn't hear the doorbell over the sound of engines, impacts, air tools, and general shop chaos... we've upgraded.
We can't promise it's OSHA approved... but we can promise we'll hear you now. 💥😂
In all seriousness, if you stop by and we're buried in the back of the shop, don't hesitate to ring the bell—we're always hard at work keeping your equipment running.

There it is, folks!! The new Arnprior Skatepark in all its glory! 😁🛹
Officially named the Kirk Orthodontics Skatepark, this place turned out absolutely awesome.
We’re proud to have been able to play a small part in helping make this happen, alongside so many other great local businesses and community members. Even cooler for us is seeing so many familiar names on that sponsor board, a lot of folks who have supported our little shop over the years too.
This is what a community coming together looks like. A pretty damn cool place for the kids to ride, learn, hang out and probably scare the hell out of their parents a few times along the way. 😂
Great job to everyone involved in making this happen for Arnprior. We’re proud to have been a small part of it! ❤️🛹

🚨 A FRIENDLY(ISH) REMINDER ABOUT OUR YARD 🚨

Apparently, our planter boxes have become a surprisingly difficult obstacle course. 😂

They are placed on either side of the driveway for a reason: our lawn is our septic system, so vehicles absolutely cannot be driven across it.

That being said, our driveway and yard are HUGE. We have literally had a transport truck turn around here — it has been done. So if you’re having trouble getting a car, truck, or trailer through the driveway without hitting planter boxes, driving across the lawn, or damaging something… we may need to have a completely different conversation about whether you should be out on the road. 😂

All jokes aside, the damage is becoming expensive and annoying.

Our yard is use at your own risk. If you damage our property, you are responsible for the cost of repairing or replacing it. Accidents happen, but hitting something and simply driving away is not acceptable. If you hit or damage something, please come in and let us know so we can arrange for the repair or replacement.

And just so everyone is aware: the moment you enter the property, regardless of which direction or angle you come from, you are immediately visible on multiple security cameras. We can see what happens in the yard, and our cameras capture both faces and licence plates.

So, if something gets hit, damaged, backed into, run over, or otherwise mysteriously rearranged… please don't assume we didn't see it. 😂 Just come in and talk to us.

And seriously — if you’re not comfortable maneuvering your vehicle or trailer, ASK US FOR HELP. We will gladly come outside, guide you, help you back up, or maneuver your vehicle or trailer for you.

We would much rather spend five minutes helping than replace another planter box… or review camera footage to figure out how someone managed to hit something in a driveway big enough to turn a transport truck around in. 😂

🔥 HEAT NOTICE 🔥

We walked into the shop at 6:00 AM and it was already 28°C inside... with all the fans running.

There's a big difference between tough and stupid, and today we're riding that fine line. 😅

With a humidex expected to hit 45°C, we're putting the safety of our team first. We'll be in the shop this morning for a short time to take care of anything urgent, but we'll be closing early before the heat becomes unsafe.

If you're planning to stop by, please call or text first to make sure we're still here.

We know this may be an inconvenience for some, and we really appreciate your understanding. We'd rather disappoint someone for a few hours than have one of our crew suffer from heat exhaustion.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and we'll be back at it as soon as Mother Nature eases up.

The D in D&S was hard at work today... 😎📋
Well... someone had to handle the important paperwork while the techs did all the heavy lifting. 😂
Dean (the D in D&S) spent the day supervising from the comfort of his executive office chair, making sure everyone stayed on schedule. Judging by that smile, we'd say management is treating him pretty well! Meanwhile, one of our techs was underneath a mower wondering where his coffee break went. 🤣
What many of you may not know is that D&S isn't just a business—it's a family legacy. ❤️
Years ago, Steve Michelson built this shop and started the family business that would eventually become D&S Small Engines & Powersports. His work ethic, craftsmanship, and passion laid the foundation for everything we do today.
One day, that legacy will be passed on to Dean and Stan. They already love spending time in the shop, and if all goes according to plan, they'll be the ones keeping your lawn mowers cutting, your ATVs ripping, your snowblowers throwing snow, and your side-by-sides hitting the trails for the next generation.
Until then... we'll let Dean stick to the "paperwork" while the rest of us keep turning wrenches. 😉🔧
Here's to Steve Michelson, the legacy he built, and the next generation that's already learning the ropes. 💙🧡

Stan (the "S" in D&S) is in the shop today making sure we stay on schedule! 😎
Today he's taken charge of one of Stag Tools Canada Honda engines and is keeping a close eye on quality control... and by quality control, we mean making sure everyone else is working as hard as he is! 😂
You best believe it's going to be a productive afternoon around here. 😉🔧
