Today, Alberta Coach & Chassis Ltd. turns 20.
Twenty years ago, Alberta Coach & Chassis started with a concrete pad, a set of tools, and an idea that there had to be a better way to service motorhomes.
We had already been working on motorhomes since 2002, and we saw a gap.
A motorhome isn't simply an RV.
Behind the living space is a heavy-duty chassis, suspension, steering, brakes, drivetrain, electrical systems, heating systems and countless components that all have to work together.
We wanted to build a one-stop motorhome shop, a place that understood everything about your motorhome.
So in 2006, we started Alberta Coach & Chassis Ltd.
Those early days weren't glamorous. We worked outside, including through Alberta winters and temperatures reaching -40°C. A year later, we built the shop ourselves, spending evenings and weekends turning an idea into a permanent home.
Then we kept building.
Not just the building, but the knowledge inside it.
We brought heavy-duty mechanics into an industry traditionally served by RV technicians. Over the years, welding and autobody expertise were added to our capabilities. Our team became Aqua-Hot certified, and we proudly service, repair and even stock parts for these hydronic heating systems here in Canada. We invested in specialized diagnostic equipment and continued adding services based on what our customers and employees told us motorhome owners needed.
Today, we work exclusively on motorhomes.
We handle the chassis and heavy-duty work we were founded on, along with coach systems, Aqua-Hot, electrical diagnostics, generators, suspension, steering, brakes, engine and drivetrain service, mobile service, motorhome windshield replacement and more.
We also invested in one of the industry's leading heavy-duty alignment systems, the Hunter HawkEye® XL, allowing us to perform precision motorhome wheel alignments right here in Alberta.
But equipment and certifications only tell part of the story.
What we're most proud of is our willingness to tackle the difficult problems.
Motorhomes can be complicated. Sometimes there isn't an easy answer or a simple part to replace. Because this is what we work on every day, our team understands how these systems interact, and we're willing to dig in, diagnose the problem and figure it out.
That's what Alberta Coach & Chassis was built to do.
And perhaps the best part of reaching 20 years is knowing that some of the customers who supported us in those earliest days are still bringing their motorhomes to us today.
That's something we don't take lightly.
