We saw this at the Apple Creek Golf Course the other day and loved everything about it: the message, the fact it was posted in plain view for both members and staff to see, and how perfectly it aligns with our own business philosophy.
This is an adaptation of a piece often called the "Customer Creed" or "Customer Philosophy" — it's been around for decades and is commonly attributed to L.L. Bean or various retail/hospitality training programs from the mid-20th century. The My Garage version would read something like this:
OUR CLIENTS are the most important people here — in person, by phone, by message or email.
OUR CLIENTS can get along without us, but we cannot get along without our clients. (How true is that?)
OUR CLIENTS are not interrupting our work; they are the reason for it.
OUR CLIENTS are not people to outsmart or talk down to. Winning an argument means losing a client.
OUR CLIENTS are people who trust us with one of their largest investments — and their safety. It is our responsibility to honour that trust every single time.
