FREE MONEY ALERT! 💰
Did you buy tires this spring? You might be owed up to $200 and not even know it.
Tire manufacturers are sitting on unclaimed rebates right now — Hankook, Michelin, Goodyear, Continental, BFGoodrich, and more — but the deadlines are closing FAST. Some expire in literally days. 😳

✅ Already bought tires? Check if your brand qualifies before the claim window shuts.
✅ Need tires? Buy now and still cash in before June 30.
This is real money manufacturers WANT to give you — most people just never ask for it.

For our Fabulous Friday Lunch at Tires On The Run this week, we tried something new:
🌶️ Saucy Shawn's Fine Eats!

Wow… These were no ordinary Beef On A Bun sandwiches. They were honestly the best any of us have ever had.
No kidding. No exaggeration. Just outstanding food.
His beef was smoked for SEVEN HOURS, and marinated overnight - Extra work, but it shows!

We started doing these Friday Lunch posts during Covid to help support local, independently owned businesses, and it's become one of our favourite traditions.
Shawn is the real deal… He genuinely cares about quality food, generous portions, and making sure people are happy. He may not call himself a "fancy" caterer, but trust us… he doesn't need to.

If you're planning a:
🎉 Birthday
💍 Wedding
🎓 Graduation
❤️ Celebration of Life
🎈 Corporate event
…or just about any gathering where feeding people well is important, Shawn would love to talk to you.

He also has some exciting things in the works, including a line of BBQ sauces and fundraising ideas for schools and community groups (think cinnamon buns! 😋).
Anyway, we loved it, our staff loved it, and we will definitely be back.
Thanks Shawn!

🏕️ 𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐑𝐕 𝐓𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝟖𝟎% 𝐓𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐮𝐢𝐧 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐇𝐨𝐥𝐢𝐝𝐚𝐲

We chase RV blowouts all summer long - the biggest mistake we see is when RV owners are looking at tread depth and assuming their RV or trailer tires are safe.

The problem? Many RVs and trailers don't accumulate a lot of mileage, so the tread often looks almost new… while the tire itself is becoming unsafe.

𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐮𝐛𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐬, 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐭'𝐬 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭 𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐫𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐰𝐚𝐲.

Watch for:

• Cracking near the rim
• Cracking in the sidewall
• Cracks between the tread blocks
• Signs of weather checking or dry rot

As a general rule, most RV and trailer tires should be replaced at around 6 years of age, regardless of how much tread remains.

Also, not all trailer tires are created equal. Unfortunately, we've seen some very inexpensive tires deteriorate quickly, sometimes within the first year. In our experience, CastleRock tires seem particularly susceptible to sidewall cracking.

A blowout can damage wheel wells, body panels, wiring, plumbing, and quickly turn a relaxing camping trip into a very expensive day sitting on the side of the highway.

😊 If you're unsure, you don't even have to book an appointment.

📸 Text or email us pictures of your tires if you're concerned.

🚐 Or simply bring your RV or trailer by for a quick look.

We'll gladly point out any concerns, whether you're our client or not.

𝐈𝐒 𝐘𝐎𝐔𝐑 𝐓𝐑𝐀𝐈𝐋𝐄𝐑 𝐑𝐈𝐃𝐈𝐍𝐆 𝐎𝐍 𝐁𝐎𝐑𝐑𝐎𝐖𝐄𝐃 𝐓𝐈𝐌𝐄?
At Tires On The Run, we install and service a lot of trailer tires — both at our shop in Airdrie and through our mobile tire service.
Every summer, we see travel trailers, utility trailers, boat trailers, and fifth wheels come in with blown tires, damaged fenders, ripped wiring – Money wasted, and camping trips ruined…
The surprising part - Most of those tires still had plenty of tread left!
The biggest enemy of a trailer tire isn't usually wear — it's age.
Most trailers only travel a few thousand kilometres each year, so the tread often looks great even when the tire itself is becoming unsafe.
In addition, we are also seeing a huge difference in tire quality today:
• Some very inexpensive offshore trailer tires — including some that come as original equipment on new trailers — are only lasting 1–2 years before developing serious cracking or failing.
• Even many name-brand trailer tires are regularly failing in the 3–5 year range.
One tire that continues to impress us is the Carlstar (formerly Carlisle) Radial Trail HD. So far, we're still seeing excellent results and commonly expect 6–8 years of safe service life when properly maintained.
What should you look for?
✔ Cracks between the tread blocks
✔ Cracks in the sidewall
✔ Cracking near the rim area
✔ Bulges in the sidewalls
✔ Tires that "look fine" but are several years old
Check the DOT Date Code
Near the bead of the tire, you'll find a series of letters and numbers beginning with "DOT."
At the end, there will either be 4 numbers showing, or a blank space – If there isn’t a 4 digit code, then check the other side of the tire – This code will gell you the manufacturing week:
Example: 2521 = 25th week of 2021
We've met plenty of trailer owners who were shocked to learn their tires were 8 or 12 years old… Our record is 33 years on a camper!
Before your next camping trip, take a few minutes to inspect your trailer tires.
Replacing tires may save you hundreds or thousands, and prevent your trip from being ruined.
If you're not sure whether your trailer tires are still safe, we'd be happy to take a look, no charge.
Be safe out there!
