So awesome! Way to go Airdrie, and way to go Airdrie Co-op! 🎉👏

10/08/2026

We would like to express a huge thank you to the Airdrie Co-op and Air 106 for organizing their Turkey Twofer promotion! 🙂
We were buying 25 turkeys for an unrelated donation to Airdrie Inclusive , but when we heard about this promotion, we bought the turkeys here, and we had 25 MORE turkeys donated to the Airdrie Food Bank - A true Win/Win/Win!
Well done, and remember to Shop Local!

Our friends from Tires On The Run are not only hosting their own event in support of the Airdrie Food Bank — they stopped by today to purchase their turkeys and double the gobble!

We are so grateful for their continued support and for finding even more ways to give back to our community. Thank you, Tires On The Run!

Every Friday, we buy lunch for our whole crew from a locally owned restaurant. It's our way of saying thanks to the people who keep Tires On The Run rolling, and keeping our dollars in the community.

This week: Angel's Cafe. 🙌
It started out of the back of a truck and spent 28 years at Edworthy Park. After losing that spot earlier this year, they didn't quit. They reopened in June inside Irvine's Tack & Western Wear, between Crossfield and Carstairs.

We had burgers, poutine, "Tummus Hummus," Cajun fries, and short rib sandwiches. Outstanding. You can taste the personal touch.

And to top it off, Ang surprised us with 2 HOME-MADEfrozen Key Lime Pies! 🥧
Irvine's is worth the drive on its own. Go see for yourself. 🤠

Every Friday, lunch is on us. 🍔
Since we're a local business, we like to support other local businesses. So every Friday, we buy lunch for our whole crew from a locally owned restaurant.

It's a small way to say thanks to the people who keep Tires On The Run rolling. And it keeps our dollars in our own community, where they do the most good.
This week, we want to tell you about a place that's earned it.

Angel's Cafe started out of the back of a truck. For 28 years it was a Calgary favourite at Edworthy Park, run by owner Cathy Jacobs. Earlier this year, the cafe lost its longtime spot when the city's water main work forced it to close. Even the building was hauled away.
A lot of people would have called it quits. Instead, Angel's reopened in late June inside Irvine Tack & Western Wear, between Crossfield and Carstairs. That's right up our way, Airdrie.
Cathy has said that after 28 years in one place, not being there has been hard. That's exactly why we think places like this deserve our business.

We ordered up Burgers, poutine, "Tummus Hummus", Cajun fries, and short rib sandwiches - We loved the food, you can tell that have that personal touch. Outstanding!

Try them out for yourself - They are now located at Irvine's Tack & Western Wear (worth the drive on it's own, what a place!), you will love it as much as we did!

(And to top if off, Ang blessed us with 2 frozen Key Lime Pies!)

We're terrible at upselling. Ask Alexis. 😅
She came in expecting to buy four tires. We checked, and she only needed two. That saved her $468.80.
Her review: "Super honest folks and great customer service." ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
We're also hearing that many shops in town only install full sets of four now, even when two makes sense on a 2WD vehicle. Sometimes four is right. When it's not, you deserve the choice.
Legendary service. Unmatched value.
Not sure what your vehicle needs? Ask us. Shop or mobile.

Full disclosure, Airdrie: We are terrible at "upselling" 😅

Here's a recent example. A customer came in expecting to buy four new tires. She'd been told she needed all four.

We checked her vehicle. It's 2WD, and the front two tires were still in good shape. So we told her the truth: she only needed two.

That saved her $468.80. We lost a bigger sale, and we'd do it again every time.

Here's what Alexis said afterward:
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ "Super honest folks and great customer service. Will definitely be coming back!"

And she's not the only one. We're hearing from customers that a lot of shops in town are no longer installing just two new tires, only full sets of four, even when two is all a 2WD vehicle needs.

Sometimes four is the right call. AWD vehicles, for example, usually need a matched set. But when two will do the job safely, you should hear that, and you should get the choice.

We'd rather earn your trust than your last dollar. Our job is to tell you what your vehicle actually needs, even when it costs us.

Legendary service. Unmatched value. That's what we're built on.

Not sure if you need two tires or four? Come see us at the shop, or we can come to you with our mobile service.

If you need a turkey for Thanksgiving... Please buy it at the Airdrie Co-op - Your one turkey purchased also supplies another one for free to the Airdrie Food Bank!
What a great promotion, well done Airdrie Co-op! 👏🎉🦃

We did the math, and somehow...

🦃 + 🦃 = 🦃

Wait. That's terrible math.

But it IS the Turkey Twofer!

Join AIR 106.1 at Calgary Co-op in Airdrie on Thursday, October 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Buy one turkey and Calgary Co-op will donate another to the Airdrie Food Bank.

You get your Thanksgiving turkey, and together we help put another one on the table for a local family.

Now THAT math works. ❤️

Thanks to Airdrie Paint and Blinds, ATR Logistics, Quest Braces, Airdrie Trailer Sales LTD., and Rustic Ranch Furniture LTD!

UPDATE: Thanksgiving dinners for 30 families, and a bonus for the Airdrie Food Bank🦃❤️

Airdrie Inclusive started with a goal of 10 hampers. We shared their initiative, and thanks to this community, it grew to 30 families and 112 people getting a Thanksgiving dinner! So many of you donated directly to Airdrie Inclusive, and that support is what made this happen. Thank you, and thank you to Airdrie Inclusive for pulling it all together. 🧡

We at Tires On The Run are buying 25 turkeys and 30 bags of potatoes for the hampers. We'll be picking up the turkeys at Calgary Co-op in Airdrie on Thursday, Oct 8, during their Turkey Twofer promotion. For every turkey bought, Co-op donates another one to the Airdrie Food Bank, so our 25 turkeys become 50. Thank you, Calgary Co-op, and thanks to AIR 106.1 for helping spread the word.
If you're buying a turkey anyway, Oct 8 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. is the day to do it. One turkey, TWO families! 🦃

THANK YOU AIRDRIE, I will always call Airdrie the "Biggest Small Town I Know!"

Thank you doesn’t even begin to cover it.

With the support of you, our incredible community, we will be providing Thanksgiving dinners to 30 families, reaching a total of 112 individuals! We’ve officially surpassed our original goal of 25 hampers, and we could not have done it without all of you!

A huge thank you to Tires On The Run, who so generously donated 25 turkeys and sacks of potatoes to help us reach this goal! Their donation of 25 turkeys, purchased through Airdrie Co-op, also means Co-op will be donating 25 turkeys to the Airdrie Food Bank, doubling the impact of their contribution to our community!

We are beyond grateful to every one that stepped up to help make sure these families have a Thanksgiving dinner they may not have otherwise had.

This is what Airdrie Inclusive is all about.

Imagine the potential if we just removed the barriers. ❤️

Hey everyone!

Airdrie Inclusive set a goal of 10 Thanksgiving hampers for local families — but turkeys weren't in the budget. They're now up to 14 hampers without a turkey.

We're stepping up: Tires On The Run will cover the turkey and a bag of potatoes for all 14 of those hampers.

Here's the challenge — Airdrie Inclusive can support up to 25 hampers total. For every $25 someone donates, we'll match it with another turkey and potatoes, right up to hamper #25.

Want to donate directly to Airdrie Inclusive? A few easy ways:

Gift card (Superstore is their preference)
E-transfer to [email protected]
Canned or boxed goods for the hampers themselves

However you'd like to help, let's beat their goal together. Comment or message us, or reach out to Airdrie Inclusive directly. 🧡

** we are currently sitting at 20 applicants for hampers so I will be creating a waiting list. We will add more people as we become capable of accommodating them**

🦃 Let’s help make Thanksgiving a little easier for local families. 🧡

Over at Airdrie Inclusive, we have been talking about putting together Thanksgiving hampers for families in our community who could use a little extra support this year.

We’ve decided to start with a goal of 10 hampers.

We’ve worked out that we can put together the food portion of each hamper for about $25, so our starting goal is $250.

The one thing we can’t reasonably cover ourselves is the turkey or ham for each family, and that’s where we’re hoping our community might want to help.

If you’d like to be part of it, there are a few ways you can help:

💵 Donate toward a hamper
🦃 Donate a turkey or ham
❤️ Share this post with someone who may want to help

Our goal is 10 hampers, but we’re not putting a limit on what we can do. If the community support allows us to put together 15, 20, or more, we’ll make more.

There’s no big organization behind this just us wanting to do something good for our community and hopefully make Thanksgiving a little bit easier for some local families.

If you’d like to donate or help us fill a hamper, send us a message. ❤️

Let’s see what we can do together.
