Would approximately 483 kilometres of range make you more comfortable choosing an electric pickup?

Ford is reportedly targeting 300 miles—about 483 kilometres—for the upcoming all-electric Ford Fathom.

Ford says many drivers may rarely use the entire range in one trip, but knowing it is available can help reduce range anxiety. That could be reassuring for Fraser Valley drivers commuting locally during the week and travelling farther across British Columbia on weekends.

What we know so far:

- Approximately 483 kilometres of targeted range
- Native North American Charging Standard port
- Compatible Tesla Supercharger access without an adapter
- Additional adapters expected for other charger types
- Official reveal reportedly planned for early 2027

Ford has not yet confirmed the Fathom’s final range, battery options, towing capability, Canadian pricing or Canadian availability.

Before we hand over the keys to the 2026 Ford F-150 Tremor, we ask a few questions. Answer them right and you can walk with a little extra cash, or send it to charity instead. This one happened on a test drive in the Fraser Valley, and the answer surprised even us.

Could the Ford Excursion be making a comeback?

A recent report suggests Ford is planning a new large sport utility vehicle for production near the end of the decade and it could be slightly larger than today’s Ford Expedition.

The most interesting detail? It may use an extended-range electric powertrain. That means electric motors would drive the vehicle, while an onboard gasoline engine could generate electricity for longer trips.

For Fraser Valley drivers, that combination could be intriguing:

- Electric operation for everyday local driving
- Added flexibility for longer trips through British Columbia
- Potential room for large families, cargo and recreational travel
- A possible modern interpretation of the legendary Excursion

Ford has not announced a new Excursion. The reported large sport utility vehicle, its 2029 production timing, final name, specifications and Canadian availability have not been confirmed by Ford. For now, it remains an exciting possibility rather than an official new model.
