⚡ FUN FACT WEDNESDAY ⚡

That battery shaped warning light does not automatically mean you need a new battery. 👀

It usually means the vehicle has detected a problem with the charging system. The cause could be the alternator, drive belt, wiring or a poor connection.

So, if that light appears during the school run, don’t simply replace the battery and hope for the best. A new battery cannot fix a charging system fault. 🎒🚗

Rat droppings under your hood? Clean them safely and check for chewing damage. 🐀⚠️

When was the last time you checked inside your engine’s air filter housing?

Wear rubber or plastic gloves and thoroughly wet the droppings with disinfectant. Let them soak for five minutes, or for the time stated on the product label, before wiping them up with paper towels.

Replace the air filter if it is contaminated, and inspect the surrounding wiring and hoses for nesting material or chewing damage.

If your Kia Sorento has a battery warning light, dimming lights, or keeps needing a jump-start, have the charging system professionally tested before replacing parts.
