🚒 Fire brigades spend a lot of time deciding what equipment should be carried on a vehicle.
👉 But 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐦𝐮𝐜𝐡 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐝𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐡𝐨𝐰 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐲 𝐛𝐞 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐝?

At INTERSCHUTZ, we spoke with hundreds of firefighters, vehicle manufacturers, and converters.

One thing became clear: As more equipment moves onto vehicle roofs, accessibility is becoming just as important as storage capacity.
A ladder that takes too long to deploy.
A tool container that requires climbing.
A rescue boat that is difficult to handle.
A fire truck carrying plenty of equipment that is not immediately accessible.

𝐈𝐍𝐓𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐂𝐇𝐔𝐓𝐙 2026 𝐢𝐬 𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫!
After six intense days in Hannover, one thing became very clear: 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞 𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐠𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐞 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐰𝐚𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐫𝐨𝐨𝐟-𝐦𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭.

Whether discussing ladders, suction hoses, rescue boats, tool containers, or complete roof storage architectures, the same challenges kept coming back:
➡ How can we carry more equipment without compromising accessibility?
➡ How can we reduce physical strain on firefighters?
➡ How can we improve access to roof-stored equipment when every second counts?

Throughout the exhibition, 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐬 𝐡𝐚𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐥𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐥𝐲 𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐝𝐨𝐨𝐫 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝, 𝐚𝐬 𝐰𝐞𝐥𝐥 𝐚𝐬 𝐨𝐧 𝐬𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐧𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐫 𝐯𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐲𝐞𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐬 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐰.

From manual systems to the latest electric deployment technologies, it was great to exchange ideas with fire brigades, vehicle manufacturers, converters, and rescue service professionals from all over Europe.

A 𝐡𝐮𝐠𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞 who visited us, challenged us with questions, shared operational feedback, and helped make this edition such a success.

Then came the less glamorous part of the exhibition... taking everything down! 😉 Thank you to PDE Team for all your efforts and your time!

130 kg on a fire truck roof: a heavy ladder + 4 suction hoses.
𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐢𝐭 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐨𝐲? 𝐂𝐎𝐌𝐄 & 𝐒𝐄𝐄 𝐒𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐃 𝐇64 (outdoor FG area) at INTERSCHUTZ this week.

At our stand, we are demonstrating how roof-mounted equipment can be lowered from the vehicle roof to operator level in 30 𝐬𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐬 or less, while helping reduce physical strain on firefighters during daily operations and interventions.

While driving in Andalusia, we came across this 𝐅𝐢𝐚𝐭 𝐃𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐨 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐞𝐝 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐥𝐮𝐑𝐚𝐜𝐤 at a petrol station.

We did not install this one. But we had the chance to speak with the team of 2 using it, and the feedback was clear: 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒍𝒐𝒗𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒌!

We had the privilege to sponsor and attend the extraordinary “Vrátíme Svratku do pramene” 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐂𝐳𝐞𝐜𝐡 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜, 𝐰𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞 𝐡𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐫𝐞𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐟𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐦𝐞 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐚 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐭 𝐢𝐧 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠-𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭.

And THEY DID IT!

Even if the 𝐆𝐮𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐁𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐨𝐟 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 still needs to officially validate the result, the firefighters successfully surpassed the previous record after 𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐚𝐧 15 𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐮𝐨𝐮𝐬 𝐞𝐟𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐭.

The final figures are simply impressive:
✔ More than 64 km of hose line deployed
✔ 463 m of elevation gain
✔ 303 firefighter brigades involved
✔ Around 2,500–3,000 participants
✔ 255 portable pumps operating simultaneously

Beyond the numbers, what truly stood out was the 𝐭𝐞𝐚𝐦𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐤, 𝐝𝐞𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐨𝐫𝐠𝐚𝐧𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐩𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐛𝐲 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐥𝐞 𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐯𝐨𝐥𝐯𝐞𝐝.

At PDE, we engineer solutions for firefighters every day. Being present at such an event was a powerful reminder of why operational efficiency, reliability, ergonomics, and teamwork matter so much in the field.
