🚛 The pace set by regulation does not always match the reality on the ground.
ACEA is calling for a 5-year postponement of Euro 7 brake-emission requirements for heavy-duty vehicles, arguing that several testing procedures and compliance methodologies are still not fully finalised or validated.
The association is also asking for a 2-year postponement of the general Euro 7 application dates for trucks and buses.
Beyond Euro 7 itself, this highlights a broader challenge for the transport sector: the transition is moving forward, but implementation may take more time than initially expected when regulation, technology and operational reality do not progress at the same pace.
For fleet operators, this makes long-term planning increasingly complex.
