The unsold inventory of Elon Musk's Tesla was so large, it was visible from space.

And Musk just slashed $6,000 off the cybertruck because there was too much inventory.

Reports indicate that there were nearly 50,000 Teslas sitting in parking lots across the USA alone this summer — so many, they could be spotted from space.

Using satellite imagery, sources like Sherwood News discovered Tesla’s Texas Gigafactory lots went from partially filled in late 2023 to overflowing by March 2024.

Additional storage locations, including vacant malls and parking lots, are also being filled to capacity.

Tesla reported building 433,371 vehicles in the first quarter of 2024 but only selling 386,810, leaving tens of thousands of excess units.

This surplus reflects a slowing EV market and Tesla’s price cuts failing to entice buyers. Satellite images reveal hundreds of Teslas packed outside places like Chesterfield Mall in St. Louis and former retail spaces like Sears in Moreno Valley, California.

While Tesla maintains optimism about reversing this inventory buildup, the growing visibility of its unsold vehicles raises questions about the long-term demand for its once-dominant brand. And Elon Musk's increasingly controversial status is causing many to question the stability of the stock.

It's official — electric vehicles now last just as long as gas cars. And they're quickly outpacing fossil fuel cars, as the tech is still maturing.

In fact, EVs now last as long as both gas and diesel cars, according to a new study analyzing nearly 300 million UK roadworthiness test records.

Researchers found that the average lifespan of an EV is 18.4 years, surpassing diesel vehicles, which last 16.8 years, and coming close to petrol cars at 18.7 years. EVs also cover an average of 200,000 km in their lifetime, outpacing petrol cars but still trailing behind diesel models. Perhaps most significantly, EV reliability is improving at a much faster rate than traditional vehicles, as advancements in battery technology continue to enhance their longevity.

While EVs are proving to be a viable and even superior alternative in some ways, experts emphasize that they are not a complete solution to transportation challenges.

Although they reduce emissions and maintenance costs—estimated at nearly half of those for petrol cars—concerns remain about road congestion, physical inactivity, and residual pollution from tire and brake wear. Urban planners and environmentalists argue that shifting towards walking, cycling, and public transportation should remain a priority alongside the transition to EVs. Still, with each passing year, electric cars are becoming a more compelling option for drivers seeking sustainability and long-term cost savings.

LEGO and BMW have teamed up to push the boundaries of creativity, transforming the popular BMW R 1200 GS Adventure motorcycle into an innovative hoverbike concept.

The collaboration started with a 603-piece LEGO Technic model set, which allowed builders to recreate the iconic adventure bike in brick form.

But rather than stopping there, the design teams at LEGO Technic and BMW Motorrad decided to take things a step further by reimagining those same LEGO pieces into a futuristic hover ride. This alternate build, true to the spirit of LEGO’s 2-in-1 kits, inspired BMW to create a full-scale version using real motorcycle components.

Built by the BMW Junior Company in Munich, the life-size hover ride concept stays true to both BMW’s signature design language and LEGO Technic’s mechanical aesthetics. Key elements, such as the boxer engine and GS silhouette, blend seamlessly with creative modifications like a front-wheel rim repurposed into a propeller.

Speaking on the project, BMW Motorrad’s head of sales, Heiner Faust, emphasized the synergy between LEGO and BMW, stating that both brands merge tradition and innovation to create unforgettable experiences. The full-scale hoverbike debuted at LEGO World in Copenhagen.
