The 2024 Land Cruiser Prado is inspired by the J60 Series Land Cruiser of the 1960s. The new offering is boxy, retro, purpose-built and based on the TNGA-F architecture and is a lot more capable on and off-road. The chassis is now 50 percent more rigid than its predecessor, while the ladder-on-frame construction is about 30 percent stiffer. The JDM is missing the new 2.4 liter hybrid engine which Toyota is offering in USA and China. Japan gets the least potent choices – the 2TR-FE 2.7-liter gasoline with 6 Super-ECT packing 161 hp and the 1GD-FTV 2.8-liter turbo diesel with Direct Shift-8AT and 201 hp. The new LC250 will hit the road of Japan in first half of 2024.
