It’s taken a while to move up the list, but it’s time to get started on this 95. One of those jobs that look much worse than I reckon it will turn out to be… it was in pretty good nick when it was stolen and slightly trashed before being recovered. It’s a full resto for sure, but I reckon it will actually be a straightforward, and hopefully, really nice outcome. 🤞👍

I’m working on a 88 model KTM 250EGS at the moment and was amazed to find that the noise reducing inlet manifold restrictor was still in place after 38 years!! I reckon any standard XL185 would have smoked it😳😂

I get a few blokes riding in for a visit from time to time, but not normally on anything 80 yrs old! Ray was meeting some mates near here so loaded up his old outfit for the occasion. He’s had it for nearly 50 years! Very cool!😎

This 90 model was a tidy rider when Brad bought it and didn’t justify a 100 point resto, so we opted for a thorough tidy up instead. The frame was red and the bike had all the usual scuffs and light damage from riding, but was well maintained and had some nice aftermarket parts on it. It’s turned out pretty nice!👍

For those of us that were mesmerised as kids by the original On Any Sunday movie, it’ll be sad to know that the last of the 3 stars of the show, Mert Lawwill, died yesterday. Apart from his stellar motorcycle career, Mert later was involved in design and manufacturing of prosthetic limbs and bicycle frame design.
Following the ill fated defence of his 1969 Grand National Championship was one of the strongest themes of the movie. Along with Malcolm Smith and Steve McQueen, Mert made Bruce Brown’s motorcycle doco an absolute masterpiece. Ride on #1…
