This rule is always worth remembering if you don't want to get squashed.
Most sensible truck drivers would occupy both lanes in this situation rather than being fully in the outside lanne

Don't overtake turning heavy vehicles. Trucks and buses need lots of space and are permitted to turn from the lane furthest from the direction they’re turning.
