Your tyres are made up of different layers called 'plys'. The layers are bonded together when the tyre is built but sometimes they start to come apart, we call this seperating. This usually happens due to excessive wear, excessive heat or a hard impact such as from a pothole. Seperation can be really dangerous as your tyre can actually blow out on you while you are driving!

If you notice a wobble or vibration at any speed, bring your vehicle in for a checkover pronto so we can let you know if it's still safe to drive on.

Unfortunately seperation is not repairable so we will have to replace your tyre for you.

Most vehicles don't have room in the boot to fit a full size spare so the manufacturer will fit a space saver tyre. These are a narrow tyres that almost look like a motorbike tyre. As they are smaller they are not suitable for higher speeds or higher loads so when you need to use them make sure you stay under 80kph and take as much weight out of the car as possible. They also need to be inflated to a higher pressure than regular tyres, the required pressure will be written on the sidewall.

Space savers are only designed to be driven on for a short period of time so make sure you bring the vehicle in ASAP to have your original tyre repaired or replaced!

Don't let a worn tyre ruin your day, have wheel alignments carried out regularly.

Uneven tyre wear such as this can be caused by damaged or worn suspension but more commonly is the result of your wheel alignment. We all know how good the roads are in Logan but all jokes aside they wreak havoc on your alignment!

To make matters worse, when this happens the tyres usually wear more on the inside edge than the outside edge. When you set your tyre pressures make sure you turn your steering all the way in one direction so its easier to check the wear on the tyres inner edge.

To ensure your tyres last as long as possible we recommend carrying out a wheel alignment every 10,000kms.
