QMT is on the lookout for a qualified MGLS accredited trainer/assessor, or someone with a motorcycle licence, a cert IV in training and assessment and whose willing to learn to be a trainer, to work in the Gippsland area. Due to strong demand in our area for motorcycle training we are in need of someone who is available on a casual basis to support our existing team delivering learner permit courses, check rides and licence assessments. The team at QMT wish to belatedly welcome our newest trainer Mark Lavale, who has moved permanently to Newborough, having lived and worked in Melbourne previously. Mark brings with him many years of motorcycle experience, which some of you may have already found out, having met him at one of our accredited courses and he is fitting in really well providing quality training to our many students amid the amazing gippsland countryside.

I thought it would be a good time to update you all on what's happening surrounding the corona virus outbreak. Quality Motorcycle Training will be continuing to offer all courses unless further information becomes available from VicRoads. We plan to maintain a safe distance policy, minimising physical contact and maintaining general cleanliness throughout each course. I would ask that anyone who has recently travelled overseas, been in contact with someone who has recently returned or is feeling slightly unwell to contact me before booking and we will discuss how you can be involved in the future. We will be stopping over Easter but all other courses around that will be running. Stay safe and happy riding.

Now that spring is upon us and the better riding weather is on its way, I wanted to remind all those learners out there who haven't done their check ride yet that you have a minimum one month waiting period after your check ride before you can sit your licence assessment. If your learners expires before sitting for your licence you must resit the learner permit course so it is crucial you don't leave things too late. I have had people recently find this out the hard way and it isn't nice for any of us, so check out your expiry date and prepare early. Happy riding and stay safe.

I would like to share with you another good news story at QMT. Today Brentan Clissold earnt his learner permit and as you can see he is pretty pleased with himself and so he should. The learner permit course can be a challenge for many of us but for Brentan it was more difficult because he has autism. This was a dream he thought he might not achieve but with the support of his family, the QMT team and a lot of dedication, he now has a motorcycle learner permit to add to his car learner permit. Brentan could have said it was too hard to obtain but chose not to and those who know him can understand that, so if you see him out and about, give him a wave, as I'm sure you'll receive one back - along with a big smile. Congratulations Brentan.
