🎥 D40 Fix & Flip – Episode 39: Found the Fault! 🔍⚡

After some testing at the plug, I finally found the problem — and it was tiny! 😳 The copper wire had broken inside the insulation right at the terminal, making the fault almost impossible to see. 🫠

Now that we’ve found it, I can repair the wiring, get the connection sorted and finally get back to the LED tail light upgrade! 🔧💡

🎥 D40 Fix & Flip – Episode 38: One Light Won’t Work! 😳🔧

The new lights are installed… aaaand one of them doesn’t work properly. 🤦‍♂️

I transferred each pin from the original plug to the new one one at a time to make sure the wiring was correct, but somehow we’ve still got a problem! 😤⚡

Now it’s time to stop guessing and start investigating. 🔍🔧 What’s actually going on with this light?

🎥 D40 Fix & Flip – Episode 37: LED Tail Lights! 💡🔧

Time for a little upgrade! 🚙💨 I’ve picked up some new LED tail lights to replace the standard filament units. The wiring is almost identical to the factory setup, and even the mounting points look very similar. 👀

So, for once, this should be a quick and easy upgrade! 😎🔧

Let’s get them fitted and see how they look! 💡✨

🎥 VT Commodore Rear Brakes – Episode 5: IT’S FIXED! 🎉🔧

We finally got there! 🙌 That was the final piece of the puzzle. After another test drive, I can confirm the scraping noise is completely gone! ✅

I also checked the wheel temperatures with an infrared thermometer and all four wheels are sitting at similar temperatures, confirming the new wheel bearing is operating correctly too. 🌡️

Another mystery solved! 🕵️‍♂️🔧

🎥 VT Commodore Rear Brakes – Episode 4: FOUND IT! 🎯🔧

I’ve finally found the high spot on the handbrake shoe! 🔍 After all that testing, we now know exactly where the contact is happening.

I’m going to carefully remove just a tiny amount of material to create clearance. ⚙️ Important: I’m only doing this because it’s the handbrake shoe. If these were actual drum brake shoes, do NOT file down the friction material! 🚨

🎥 VT Commodore Rear Brakes – Episode 3: Still Scraping! 😩🔧

Looks like this is going to take longer than expected! 😂 I’ve marked a second line inside the brake drum, taken it for another test drive, then pulled everything apart again.

We’re still making contact somewhere, so I’ve added even more markings to the handbrake assembly. 🔍 Hopefully this test finally reveals exactly where the scraping is coming from!

🎥 VT Commodore Rear Brakes – Episode 2: We Found Something! 🔍🔧

The first test is complete, and we’ve got some results! 👀 As suspected, part of the dust cover is scraping against the brake disc. But there’s a surprise — a small section of the handbrake shoe is also making contact! 😳

Time to file down the dust cover and see if we can identify the high spot on the shoe. 🔧 Let’s keep digging!

🎥 VT Commodore Rear Brakes – Episode 1: The Mystery Scrape! 🔧👀

New rear brakes are fitted, but there’s an annoying scraping sound coming from somewhere! 😤 So, naturally, I’ve pulled everything apart again. 😂

I’ve marked the inside of the brake disc and drum with paint to see exactly where it’s making contact. Hopefully, whatever gets rubbed away will finally reveal the culprit! 🔍🛠️

🚨 PSA: DON’T IGNORE THESE WARNING SIGNS! 🚗⚠️

This Subaru Forester came in with a shudder under braking, but during the inspection I found a major safety concern in the front suspension. 😳

If your car develops a new vibration, shudder, knocking noise or anything that doesn’t feel right, don’t ignore it! Get it checked by a qualified mechanic ASAP. 🔧 Your suspension and brakes are too important to take chances with.

🎥 Hiace Rebuild – Episode 80: THE FINAL RESULT! 🔧🎉

Here’s how to set the base timing on one of these older EFI vehicles. ⏱️🔧 I also compare our compression tests throughout the rebuild — starting at 125 PSI across all 4 cylinders, dropping to an uneven result at first start, then climbing to 150 PSI across the board after bedding in! 💪🔥

Just a few little things left for Blue Slip, but this rebuild is officially a VICTORY! 🏆🚐
