Yesterday’s practice turned into a typical race car day? Just after I mentioned how well the Silvia is behaving, we discover a major oil leak after practice 2.
Turned out the cam seal has let go, so off to Adelaide for a new seal while Seato stripped the front of the engine, by 9.30 she was back together and running, thanks to Matt Simms for your valuable help.
Quali this morning then racing today and tomorrow!

Last race topped of a great day, started P3, finished P3, need to work on my starts still, got taken by two or three cars again off the line but fought the position back again!
Car has been awesome all weekend, thanks Seato for the great car prep!

Yesterday was practice day for all categories, the Silvia is performing nicely, and only one spin caused by the driver, but kept it on the black stuff.
Seato then made some minor suspension adjustments to the rear, and the next session was faultless.
Today will be Streaming on Blend line TV on YouTube times below.

First race meeting for the year at Winton in the VMRC Vic Tin Tops, only a small field of 5 VTT cars, so they joined us with M30 BMW’s to make up a field!
Saturday was great, qualified 1st, won both Saturday races. Sunday started with a warmup session then a one lap shootout for each category, one that and second fastest overall, congrats Greg Lynch in the Vic V8’s Commodore.
Then it all turned to s**t when I run the battery low waiting in the pregrid from running the cool suit and the electric power steering, voltage dropped so the fuel pumps wouldn’t run when trying to start, happened on both races.
Lesson is use an external plugin backup battery if you want the luxury of cool suit whilst waiting in pregrid!
Anyway this weekend was mainly a shakedown before the big boy races start!
I have to mention that the new format that the VMRC are running there events with now work really well, quick turn around between races, the rolling starts really seem to work well, the next category is rolling out on track as the last of the previous racers are coming back in!

Big thanks to Dean Lilly of Ravage Raceworks for the excellent tune or the 6ltr LS and the new Samsonas sequel gearbox, and the track days fine tuning the Silvia.
Also Matt DeKoke of for the repairs and respray of the Rapid Racing Orange fiberglass panels.
Also Matt Lyon of for the freshen up of the sign writing!
Last but not least would be out here racing if it wasn’t for Mark Seaton for all the race car prep and pit crewing!
