Hi Everyone,
This is what some would call a milestone.
I would like share this time zone with you all.
John Newall Smash Repairs is coming close to celebrating 50 years of operations and business.
In 1987-88 I crossed paths with John Newall who was ready to leave Windsor and his Repair Shop and move to Port Macquarie for a different life style. We quickly came to a business deal and I bought John Newall Smash Repairs in June 1988.
This month June 2026 marks 38 years I have owned and steered John Newall Smash Repairs through good times and hard economies . I have worked along side some incredible work colleagues and tradesmen in that time, we trained and taught apprentices who went on to be a part of our team over the years and take their direction in life.
In the early 1990s we were one of the Million Dollar P.A Companies and then IAG wiped out three quarters of our annual turnover by incorporating the old NRMA Insurance.
We continued to work hard for our clients in those hard times and by celebrating my 38 years as owner I would like to thank all my customers and clients and friends for the wonderful support you have given over this time.
38 years has gone by in a blink of time travel and at 71 this year I still enjoy coming to work and repairing your cars, Whether by Accident or Restoring your dream Machine, it is very satisfying.

We have also had the yellow Twin Cam Ford Es**rt back for a little accident, the right hand rear quarter panel on this one too. It is ready to be picked up next week as well

Hi everyone, we have had a couple of return clients this last month, one is the Ford Es**rt race car which suffered a little on track incident, its done now and ready to be picked up. The other I will do a write up as well. I will upload a batch of progression images for this one.

Hi everyone , here something we don’t see everyday , 1958 Holden in for a minor repair but have had to replace the lower section of the guard due a very old yesteryear repair. I will do an update with the new section welded in. We get to do a large variety yesteryear cars along side our every day modern car repairs . Just stop and take a breath , this is a 1958 Holden Special , that’s 67 year old car .😊

Hi everyone, we have a run on BMW's at the moment.
We have a X3 in for a known issue of clogged up Washer Bottle with algae.The Washer Bottle is very difficult to get out of the car as it is moulded up under the front guard arch and splashtray and its Tailgate has decided to stop working on the electric struts.
The 320D had a car do a uturn into the side of them, this is ready to go out now.
And the 2002 had a coming together I believe at Bathurst, its just arrived at the shop after a period of waiting to get in.
