The 2020 Backpacks for Bushfires campaign is one beautiful community memory that stands out as one of the absolute proudest for our staff, our owners, and our entire business family 🤗

In early 2020, the McLeod’s daughters (sounds like a good name for a TV show 🤠🤠) spotted an inspiring lady on Instagram.

She was promoting a simple but powerful idea💡
Buy a school backpack, fill it with goodies, and give it to a child heading back to school who had potentially lost everything in the devastating bushfires.

Our team immediately reached out to see how we could jump on board. We expected to help a little bit, but what happened next truly showed the incredible spirit of Whyalla.

The Community Response was phenomenal! The dealership was quickly flooded with bags ❤️

Locals walked through our doors with fully packed backpacks, while others brought in money, asking us to buy supplies on their behalf so they could participate.

The momentum grew so fast that other local businesses started offering discounts to anyone buying supplies for the cause.🥰🥰🥰

And when it came time to deliver the massive haul, a local transport company generously stepped up to truck all the donated bags to Adelaide completely free of charge.

As we celebrate 30 years in business, we've been reflecting on the amazing relationships we've built right here in Whyalla. We recently caught up with the lovely Simone, who shared some fantastic words about her experience with us.

We love looking back at our journey, and 2015 marked a massive, positive milestone for our team when we officially acquired Whyalla Toyota & Hyundai! 🚙🎉

Our journey in Whyalla has been an incredible evolution of growth and dedication to our local community, and in 2015 we started operating from the Forsyth Street site, getting our bearings and serving more wonderful new customers.

After that we moved back to our roots at our old dealership site on Essington Lewis Avenue, before making the move to the ultimate destination where we are now in December 2018.

And we absolutely love our current, state-of-the-art site on Playford Avenue!

Today our Playford Avenue location allows us to fully focus on bringing you the very best from Toyota, Nissan, and Mitsubishi, and a great range of pre-owned cars too!
