And that's a wrap for round 4 of the Formula RX8 Championship at Sydney Motorsport Park!
Friday was my first time on the full track and my first time driving in the wet. We took it steady in practice and finished P5 before qualifying P2. We just missed the ideal tyre window as the track progressively dried, but I was still happy to come away with a front-row start.
Race 1 started strong, pulling away with the leader before a right rear toe arm issue forced me off the track twice. I tried to manage the problem and brought it home in P6. Race 2 was more or less the same where I had the pace to move forward, but the toe arm issue returned, and I limped the car home in P5.
Saturday was my first dry laps on the full circuit. Starting P2 in Race 3, I held second until a fuel pump issue brought on some fuel surge late in the race, losing P2 by just 0.009 seconds at the finish.
In the final race, I started P5 and worked my way up to P3 on the opening lap. The top three broke away from the field by over 25 seconds, and although I couldn't quite challenge for the lead, I was stoked to bring home a podium.
A huge thank you to all of my supporters and sponsors for your continued support throughout the season. Your backing, encouragement, and the opportunities you provide make weekends like this possible, and I truly appreciate everything you do.
