🔧 LS1 ENGINE INSPECTION & REBUILD 🔧

Another big job in the workshop! 💪

A customer has brought in their LS1 engine after it unfortunately locked up. We’re now starting the full engine tear-down to find out exactly what caused the failure.
can you spot the problem let us now?

The motor will be completely stripped down and inspected, with every component checked for damage and wear. From there, we’ll put together a plan for the rebuild and get this LS1 back together stronger and ready to hit the road again! 🔥

🚙🔧 GQ/GU Patrol Radiator Replacement 🔧🚙

This Patrol came in with an overheating issue, and after inspection we found the old radiator had developed a hole and was no longer doing its job properly.

We removed the damaged radiator and replaced it with a new unit, getting the cooling system back into shape and ready to hit the road again! 💪

✅ Old damaged radiator removed
✅ New radiator fitted
✅ Cooling system checked
✅ Fresh coolant installed
✅ Leak inspection carried out

A damaged radiator can quickly lead to overheating and potentially serious engine damage, so it’s important to get cooling issues sorted before they become expensive problems!

Another GU Patrol in the workshop getting some much-needed attention! 💪

This one came in for rear wheel bearings and axle seals, helping prevent oil leaks, bearing failure and further damage to the rear end.

Rear wheel bearings are an important part of keeping your Patrol reliable, especially if it’s regularly used for towing, touring or hard 4WDing.

✅ Rear wheel bearings replaced
✅ Axle seals replaced
✅ Components inspected and cleaned
✅ Reassembled and ready to get back on the road

Today we tracked down a serious front-end noise on this GU Patrol. After a closer inspection, we found the front wheel bearing had completely failed.

As you can see, the bearing had come apart, causing excessive wheel wobble. Left unchecked, a failed wheel bearing can lead to major damage and, in the worst case, the loss of a wheel while driving.

Wheel bearings are a critical safety component. They don’t just keep you and your passengers safe—they help protect everyone else on the road too.

If you’re hearing a humming, grinding, or knocking noise from your wheels, or you’ve noticed vibration or wheel play, don’t ignore it. Getting it checked early can save you from a much bigger and more expensive repair.

If your 4WD is making unusual noises or just doesn’t feel right, get in touch. We’d rather catch it early than see it end up like this. 💪🔧

ne thing’s for sure—always make sure your brake pads and rotors are in good condition.

Your brakes don’t just protect you and your passengers, they help keep everyone else on the road safe too.

This photo shows what happens when brake pads are left too long… metal-on-metal contact. It’s a dangerous situation that can lead to poor braking performance, expensive repairs, or even a serious accident.

Don’t leave it until it’s too late. If you’re hearing grinding, squealing, or you’re unsure about the condition of your brakes, get them checked by us don't leave it to late !!

Our latest Nissan X-Trail came in needing a bit of TLC! 👨‍🔧

The customer reported a loud noise from the engine bay, a battery warning light, and an intermittent vibration around 80 km/h.

After a full inspection, we found:
✅ New water pump fitted to replace a failing bearing
✅ New rear lower control arm bushes installed
✅ Brand new alternator fitted to fix the battery light issue
✅ New tailshaft centre bearing fitted to eliminate the vibration

We also gave the vehicle a thorough health check to make sure everything else was in top shape.

Now it’s driving smoother, quieter, and back on the road with one very happy customer! Thanks for trusting us with your X-Trail. 🚗💪
