MYTH #7 — “More layers automatically means better protection.”
❌ More isn't automatically better.
✅ Coatings are engineered as systems. Correct preparation, compatibility, application and curing matter more than simply stacking layers.
MYTH #8 — 9H or 10H means the coating can't scratch.
❌ Hardness ratings do not mean your vehicle becomes scratch-proof.
✅ Paint can still be scratched or marred through poor washing, physical contact and improper maintenance.
MYTH #9 — If water stops beading, the ceramic coating is gone.
❌ Not necessarily.
Contamination, minerals, traffic film and residues can interfere with hydrophobic behaviour. Proper decontamination or maintenance may restore performance.
MYTH #10 — Ceramic coating prevents stone chips.
❌ Ceramic coating is not PPF.
✅ For meaningful physical protection against stone chips and impacts, Paint Protection Film is the appropriate solution. Ceramic coating and PPF perform different jobs.
MYTH #11 — “You should keep waxing a ceramic-coated car.”
❌ Usually unnecessary, and some waxes or shampoo-and-wax products can interfere with the coating's surface behaviour.
✅ Use maintenance products designed to work with your coating system rather than automatically putting wax over it.
MYTH 12 — One ceramic coating can be used on everything.
❌ This was one of our strongest myths.
Paint, glass, plastic, rubber, leather, wheels, polycarbonate and PPF are different substrates with different characteristics.
A coating designed for painted clear coat isn't automatically the ideal product for every other surface.
That's why professional systems have dedicated products for paint, glass, PPF, leather, fabric, trim, wheels and other materials.
You wouldn't use body lotion as hair conditioner just because they're both on your body. 😆
