Damon's Nissan Patrol was in for repairs this week. After a loss of power whilst driving it was discovered that the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) Pipe between the exhaust manifold and EGR cooler had snapped at the welds after all the years of vibrations and temperature changes. This failure caused the turbo to not operate due to the minimal amount of exhaust gas flowing through it to power it, hence the loss in power.
A new Nissan genuine EGR pipe was fitted and clearly Nissan have recognised this problem and strengthened the point of failure.
I've been told the car is now feeling even more powerful and responsive than it was before the failure, a great result from a very happy customer.
