Defence Models and Graphics Pty Ltd Custom built scale models for the Defence Industry We went fulltime in 2000 and became a Pty Ltd company in 2010.

DEFENCE MODELS & GRAPHICS PTY LTD was established in 1997 (part time) to fill a need in the Defence Industry for the construction of finely detailed scale models of defence equipment. Most of our models are of equipment not yet built or in service with the ADF. The models provide the defence forces with insight into what these companies are going to provide for them. They are made of only the best

materials, using some of the most advanced model making equipment, including flat bed laser cutters and molding systems.

Catching up on our work with some big projects just about done. Just completed this one for a company out at Moree. Not our usual subjects, not being defence related but it was a challenge all the same.

This is a 1:8 scale industrial air compressor used in the mining sector. I used a lot of acrylic sheet (Perspex for those of you that know it as that) which comes in all sorts of colours. It glues well as is more ridged than the styrene sheet I usually use for my work. I am using more of this now in models. It cuts beautifully with our laser cutter so even the master for the tyres and hubs were made using acrylic disks then cast in Black resin.

Very happy with how this turned out. Now to finish off some more big jobs.
