🚐 Another reason to get your caravan serviced every 12 months or 10,000 km — whichever comes first! 🔧

This PALM Caravan came in to us for some repairs, and while the boys were giving it a once-over, they noticed delamination starting to occur in the tyres 😳

The tyres were only 2 years old and had travelled just 7,000 km! Even more surprising, they’re a well-known and trusted tyre brand.

Luckily, our technicians picked it up before it became a much bigger problem. 👀

The customer has now taken the tyres back to the tyre shop to have them inspected and hopefully sorted under warranty.

👉 This is exactly why regular caravan servicing is so important. It’s not just about fixing what you already know about — it’s about finding potential safety issues before they turn into a roadside disaster.

🚐 Jayco Discovery – Wheel Alignment

This Jayco Discovery came in to us for a wheel alignment with J-Tech suspension.

Unfortunately, it was the same story again — there’s no camber adjustment available with this suspension setup. The right rear wheel was by far the worst, with the camber well out of where we’d like to see it.

While carrying out the inspection, we also noticed the right-hand side wheel bearings were extremely loose 😳. We adjusted the bearings back to the correct preload before completing the alignment.

We managed to get the toe settings corrected to help the van track as straight and safely as possible, despite the limitations of the suspension.

Another good example of why a proper wheel alignment is more than just checking the numbers — a thorough inspection can pick up issues that could otherwise be missed. 🔧

🚐 AVAN ASPIRE WHEEL ALIGNMENT 🔧

This Avan Aspire came into us for a wheel alignment, fitted with AL-KO Enduro Independent Suspension.

The driver’s side camber was well out of spec. We were able to bring it back down significantly, but unfortunately we ran out of adjustment before we could get it completely where it needed to be.

We made the maximum adjustment available to get the alignment as close as possible and improve the van’s tracking and tyre wear.

This is exactly why a proper wheel alignment is so important — it can identify issues that simply aren’t visible to the naked eye. 👀

Another van measured, adjusted and set up as accurately as the available suspension adjustment allows. 💪

💦 ANOTHER WATER LEAK SORTED! 💦

This Franklin came into us for some water leak repairs, and during our inspection Matt noticed the roof hatch silicone had well and truly passed its use-by date! 😳

As you can see in the video, there was no need to cut the old silicone at all — it was simply no longer bonded to the surface properly and peeled away in one piece.

This is why surface preparation is absolutely critical when resealing a caravan. 🛠️

It’s not just about putting a bead of silicone down and making it look pretty. The old sealant needs to be properly removed, the surface thoroughly cleaned and prepared, and the correct sealant applied to ensure proper adhesion and a long-lasting seal.

A great-looking bead of silicone is only as good as the preparation underneath it! 👌

Another Franklin getting the attention it deserves and another potential water leak stopped before it caused some serious damage. 💧🚐

🚐 Jayco Journey — J-Tech Suspension & Wheel Alignment

This Jayco Journey came in for a wheel alignment, and unfortunately, the suspension setup was a bit of a mess 😳

With the J-Tech suspension, there’s no provision for camber adjustment, so we couldn’t correct everything we would have liked to.

But we were able to correct and fine-tune the toe settings to get the wheels working together and help the van track straight and tow correctly. 🔧👌

Our laser alignment system lets us accurately measure exactly what’s happening at each wheel and make the adjustments available within the suspension design.

☀️ Solar Upgrade Time! ☀️

A couple of Snowy River Caravans were in the workshop for warranty replacement of their roof-mounted flexible solar panels after the original panels had failed.

Unfortunately, flexible solar panels can be prone to premature failure due to constant exposure to harsh Australian conditions, including heat, UV and weather.

We've replaced the failed panels with new units under warranty, ensuring these vans are ready to get back out and enjoy off-grid adventures with reliable charging once again.
