Jesse’s XR6 Turbo came in with a loud engine knock that definitely wasn’t something to ignore. 👀🔧
After carrying out some diagnosis, we found the engine had excessive blow-by. The engine was removed and stripped down for inspection.
Here’s what we found:
🔹 Cylinder 1 had a bent conrod, allowing the piston to contact the crankshaft counterweight, causing the knocking noise.
🔹 5 pistons had broken ringlands, resulting in excessive blow-by and loss of compression.
Rather than just repairing the damage, we’re stepping it up. 💪
This Barra is getting a full-spec build using a Nitto Performance Engineering rotating assembly, so it’ll be ready to handle some serious power when it’s back together.
🔥 Stay tuned—this is going to be one tough Barra build, and we’ll be sharing the progress every step of the way.
