So the answer to the question was a custom arm rest and console. Fitted to the side of the passenger seat.
Got some trim done in the compliance van plus silastic around the kitchen and the main power wire hole through the floor.
I got some new latches to play with. Quite simple but very secure and easy to work with. But use them more in the future.
The doggo van is back again for more finishing touches. I carpeted one of the rear doors today, two more to go.

Custom Ute tray fit out.

12/10/2026

Well something different. Had a Hilux Ute in for a tray fit out. The customer bought all the hardware and even made a custom to suit wood floor.
The fit out included two 100a lithium connected in parallel, a Renogy 50a DCDC, victron isolator, 12v fuse board, usb / 12v board, Kings drawl fridge, Kings pantry, Kings 12v oven and 2 Kings Drawer Compartments.
There was already a 12v power
The electrical was set up so the dcdc could always charge the batteries but the rest of the 12v for the fridge, oven and board could be switched off at the isolator. Customer was really happy and I bet she is looking forward to getting out there and enjoying it.

Well the compliance van is getter closer and closer to being finished.
12v, done
Water, done
Cupboards removed, done
Wall, done
Seat, done

I had to plug up a hole in the floor but it had to be flush. But if CAD work and out pops a 3D printed plug. Bit of silicon to make it water tight and it was good to go.
Just got to finish the bed doors, bed slats, little bit of rear wall framing and this⬇️.
Any guesses what it’s is?

So Bluey (real name Basil), got picked up today. I surprised the owner by giving him a good scrub. The customer was super stoked with her new bed and all the other jobs we had done for her.

Had a nice little Coromal van in today with a 12v power issue to the 3 way fridge. Power at the fridge was 10.4v. Traced the wire back to the battery vis a blade fuse which going by the holder looked pretty new. Had trouble getting the cap off and once I did I saw why. The fuse had melted but hadn’t actually blown. When I took the fuse out it fell apart in my hands. Just goes to show that sometimes you have to check the obvious to ensure it’s not part of the problem. While it was there also gave it a wheel bearing service as well as fitting a new latch on the entrance door.
The compliance van had more electrical work done an Bluey had the bed slats cut and fitted.

The compliance van got it new roof paint over the weekend. Sure looks great.
Had a nice big van in today to fit a grey water tank and secure the wandering microwave.
There was a nice spot in front of the water tank and the rear axle to fit the tank. I made up a custom bracket utilizing the water tank mounts and then put some steel riv nuts into a cross member. A few plumbing parts and I got it all fitted up.
The customer said the microwave had come off its mount and was bouncing around the cabinet. I pulled it out and found the whole rear and cabinet covered in grime. The factory had put a vent directly behind the microwave which was allowing water and dirt in. On discussion with the owner we decided to block the vent. I secured the microwave to a board with screws and m35 then secured that board to the cabinet. Should go anywhere now.

Part of the compliance van work is re-painting the roof. Someone in its lifetime decided to paint the roof with a paint brush and what appears to be house paint. I spent a few hours in the roof cutting off silicon and grinding away rust spots. I’ve got a relative who is a spray painter so tomoz the workshop will be a spray booth. I got the bed frame made and the hot water service mounted as well as the Redarc dcdc. The owner came in for a look and is super happy with the work.

Well Bluey’s bed is basically done. Just got to get a bit more timber and then make the slats. In the mean time we have started on the drivers step which of course will be over engineered and very clever.
The compliance van went a bit side ways when the owner stated they wanted to redo part of the inside as well. So out went the weird futon bed as well as all the cupboards above the sink. The owner wants a single bed on the other side and a seat and table at the ends of the bench. I got a new wall skin in as well as a new end wall board and a large trim piece that connects the wall to the ceiling.
