BUILT FOR WHEN FAILURE ISN'T AN OPTION

Outback Armour didn't start out building suspension for weekend tourers. The name comes from where the company actually began — designing suspension for armoured vehicles, where a failure isn't just inconvenient, it's genuinely dangerous.

That background shaped how they build everything since. Progressive bump stops — a cushioned, staged response instead of a single hard hit — are a direct carryover from military-spec setups, designed to protect the vehicle and the people in it under real load, in real conditions.

When that same engineering standard gets applied to a dual cab or a touring rig, you end up with suspension built to a level most 4WD setups were never designed to meet.

It's part of why we stock it — we're not fitting something built for a showroom. We're fitting something built for when it actually matters.

WHY WE USE CLEARVIEW TOWING MIRRORS

Standard mirrors weren't built to see past a wide caravan, trailer, or boat — and that's exactly where Clearview's Next Gen mirrors earn their keep.

The dual-mirror design pairs a large flat mirror for accurate distance judgment with a smaller convex mirror underneath, cutting down blind spots and giving you a clear view of what's beside and behind you. They extend up to 180mm for towing, then retract back down close to the vehicle for normal driving — no permanently oversized mirrors sticking out when you don't need them.

Not every suspension upgrade is built for what Australians actually do with their 4WDs — loaded up, off the black top, working hard on remote tracks. Outback Armour is.

It's engineered specifically for Australian conditions and Australian-spec vehicles, not adapted from somewhere else. That means better load handling for touring setups, more predictable ride quality once you've added a canopy, drawers, or a bit of weight up top, and components built to actually hold up to corrugations, not just handle a smooth gravel road.

WHEN THE BOSS BECOMES THE INSTALLER

Page's been a bit quiet lately — not because nothing's happening, but because when the installer's out, someone still has to get under the vehicle and make sure the customer isn't left waiting.

That someone was me last week. Outback Armour suspension going in, sleeves rolled up, back on the tools for a day or two.

More time under vehicles means less time on the page — but the work still gets done, on time, to the same standard. Back in the office now and back to regular posting.
