This recognition belongs just as much to our wonderful guests as it does to us. Every visit, recommendation, review, shared photo and return stay has helped us reach this milestone. Thank you all so much! ❤️ thank you to all our followers for tagging and sharing our small family farm stay!
Behind the happy photos and wonderful memories has been a fight that very few people see. The council requirements, permits, applications, unexpected costs and endless hurdles involved in trying to keep our little farm stay open have been overwhelming at times.
We have risked our life savings and continued fighting because we believe so strongly in what Mountview is!! We are not trying to become a big commercial caravan park or luxury resort. We simply want to remain a small, personal and affordable off grid farm stay where families can reconnect with nature, learn about farm life, put down the technology, make new friends and create memories together.
After Katie’s injury last year, everything became even harder. She went from being the heart and soul of the farm stay, answering the phone, greeting every guest and helping create those special memories, to suddenly being unable to answer a phone call or even organise and play with all the kids the way she once did…..Our dreams felt as though they had come crashing down, and the business has been affected enormously. 💔
But we knew we had created something truly special and worth fighting for.
We are also incredibly thankful for the beautiful environment and community that has grown here. So many guests have arrived as strangers and left as genuine friends, and some have even become part of our Mountview family. The friendships, laughter, support and kindness we have experienced along the way mean more to us than we could ever put into words. We are especially grateful for our favourite farmhands and for wonderful people like Chappys Travels .fifo.family !
Small milestones like this remind us why we keep going, why we continue jumping every hurdle and why we are determined to fight for Mountview to remain exactly what it was created to be. Simple, personal, educational, off grid, affordable and full of heart.
To be recognised alongside some of Queensland’s top rated farm and station stays means more to us than we could ever explain.
