After 30 Years, It’s Time to Hand Over the Keys… 🚗🔧

Hi everyone,
It’s Geoff here — after nearly three decades at the helm of Gallon’s Automotive, I’ve officially hung up the tools and stepped into retirement. It’s been an incredible journey, and I want to sincerely thank each and every one of you who’s trusted us with your vehicles over the years.

The great news is the Gallon’s legacy is continuing strong under new local ownership. DG Automotive Investment Group has taken over the business, and I couldn’t be happier to see it in such capable hands. These guys are Townsville locals, genuinely customer-focused, and share the same values that built Gallon’s — honesty, quality, and great service.

🚗 Exciting News for Townsville!

We’re thrilled to announce that Gallon’s Automotive has now been proudly taken over by DG Automotive Investment Group T/A Gallon’s Automotive.

After many years of dedicated service, Geoff has decided to retire, and we wish him all the very best in this next chapter. His commitment and care for customers built a fantastic reputation that we are proud to continue.

DG Automotive Investment Group T/A Gallon’s Automotive is now open Monday to Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm, providing consistency, reliability, and the same great service that Gallon’s Automotive customers have always known and trusted.

Over the past few weeks, the DG Automotive team has been working hard behind the scenes to ensure a smooth transition and a seamless experience for all customers. Transparency and trust remain at the heart of everything we do — we’ve implemented new workshop software that provides real-time updates and complete visibility throughout your vehicle’s service. We’ve also been developing a brand-new website where you’ll soon be able to book services online and manage your vehicle needs easily from home.

Damien Taylor (Director) and Gordan McCormack (General Manager) have worked together for over a decade, first teaming up in 2014 within the North Queensland security industry. Together they built the region’s largest locally owned security firm before successfully exiting in 2022.

Their shared values — customer care, integrity, and community trust — continue to guide this next chapter in the automotive industry. After overseeing operations and training at TyresPlus Townsville, Gordan has stepped back from his previous role to support Damien in managing DG Automotive Investment Group T/A Gallon’s Automotive, ensuring a smooth transition and the highest level of service for all customers.

This collaboration combines extensive business experience and local knowledge to strengthen Gallon’s Automotive and keep it proudly Townsville-owned and operated.

We look forward to welcoming both new and returning customers to experience the new chapter of Gallon’s Automotive — now proudly powered by DG Automotive Investment Group.

Thank you so much to everyone that took the time to congratulate me. I don't see retirement on the horizon just yet (unless someone wants to buy me out) so i'm looking forward to seeing everybody for at least another few years.

GUESS WHO IS 29 TODAY? WE STARTED WAY BACK IN 1994. HAVE GONE THROUGH A LOT AND CAME OUT THE OTHER SIDE.THANKS TO ALL MY LOYAL CUSTOMERS/FRIENDS FOR SUPPORTING ME OVER THE YEARS.

It's only petrol models and this happens every day on every other vehicle make and model. Fuel pumps are after all an electric motor and won't last forever. They must be failing prematurely for Toyota to be recalling them. They are also not made by Toyota.

Tens of thousands of Toyota's have been recalled amid fears a faulty fuel pump could cause drivers to crash.

Gallons Auto is open. All aspects of social distancing are being strictly adhered to. Personal hygiene and that of all vehicles being worked on is being carried out to the best of my ability. i know it's going to be difficult to have your vehicle serviced if you don't have an income, but for those that can i'll be here as long as the government allows it.
